Bap Bop De Do Bop

I’ve added two more albums to my current playlist, Kasabian by Kasabian and Perfect Symmetry by Keane and am looking at the newest album by Ne-yo which i never got around to. Did anyone else know that the wiki page for albums automatically collects and displays “professional reviews”? It would be interesting to actually go through it and see how “professional” critics see, or hear, the music we listen too, although i suppose metacritic.com is much more powerful at aggregating it….

I think I have a think for British rock, with mild to heavy electronica, or maybe its because I’ll never hear it on local radio

Things seem to be going smoothly, I’ll be going to the South Asian Student Alliance show that happens every year. It happens with all the universities in Ontario with their respective south asian clubs/alliances/groups. I didn’t go to last year’s one, but people said it was well worth it, which i will find out this coming Saturday. The after party is also said to be eventful, if your into after parties of mainly westernized south asian kids… hopefully the guy:girl ratio isn’t abysmal.

On a completely different note, how awesome is the Naruto manga going? Am i the only one who reads it? After all, you can read it online, so its not like you have to put to much work into downloading and extracting anything. I mean, there’s been non-stop action for a long time now with massive losses for both protagonist and antagonist, always loved it when the author is willing to kill of characters that were prominent, unlike others… *cough*

My computer keeps shutting down

My computer keeps shutting down
down down down
down down
down

Overheating apparently? In the whole process of upgrading to windows 7, i was blessed with nicer looking backgrounds and themes, and much faster gaming?? but anyways my core temperature is pretty high, like high enough to almost boil water sometimes, so its constantly being monitored which is quite the hassle, Higher temps = lift laptop and attempt to blow. Not really but it helps a little bit to just lift it up at an agle at certain times, so the next thing i need is some sort of fan mounted thingy.

Another thing which bothers me is that my fan, Blows out COLD air, while the temp is still quite high everywhere else.

Fable...

I am kinda addicted to fable now... after playing fable 2 on Nimalan's (i'm assuming we're all now using real names) xbox 360... I felt the urge 2 weeks later to buy fable on pc. Unfortunately, i don't think my laptop is built for gaming, therefore i'm getting a lot of lagging and really really long lags a.k.a. frozen... although if u do wait long enough, the screen will move.
However, there are moments of smooth play which is awesome. Fable is quite different from Fable II... or should i say the other way around as Fable was the original one. Controls are different largely due to me using a keyboard now... (without a mouse...) instead of a controller. But even then, the way we place experience on different skills is different and the transportation. If there wasn't so much lagging, i might actually enjoy the game more. There's actual mana for fable whereas in fable 2 u can just keep firing off magic with no consequences... which i likeeeee haha.

... Fable time...

Things to do on a saturday in waterloo..

"When all your friends have gone back to toronto, but you can't because you're going back the following week."

Sleep in til late! followed by lazily cooking up some leftovers, by popping it into the microwave requiring little to no work at all. Followed by catching up on the usual engadget, cnet tv, tsn, etc. Then an afternoon spent, episodes and episodes of how i met your mother combined with attempting to study to make myself feel like the day was not wasted, catching up with music downloads, gathering the few people left in waterloo for a dinner, and some msn time then we get to right now, where I have just set my clock an hour forward, and realize that it is once again a 1am post.

A short post to make myself feel better about posting and to make others post more.

Name change?

I Looked at the post and I find that it has once again quickly changed. It all fits now, titleA actually matches the titleB!

Just landed a very possible chance at working at a small biotech company in markham for the next co-op term, woot. small = 8 people. Peter / Gary i may need to draw on some of your uber bio / chem skills. We'll see how it goes, Just need to go confirm this. And some programming? ( Visual Studio . NET, PHP ) so i may be asking Nim for some help? And the owner of the company is an electrical engineering grad. nice..

Hmm i know i had a few other things to say,

Just came out of christian fellowship today where they had an intense dsl? discussion. I understand one of you a bit more now... probably not anyways, but it provided a nice insight into how christians view relationships , dating and it all.

Why is it always 1am>~ by the time i get to posts? i'll post earlier next time

World Record Time

3000 words essay in 7 hours? A record to me.

I had massive writer' block last night.. so I woke up this morning at 7am. to finish my 12 page essay. The problem was that it was due at 6pm, and I was looking around youtube until 10am to seriously start.

Timeline:
10am: Introduction done without thesis
2pm: Thesis + first main point
4pm: two main points complete
5pm:rushed my last point + conclusion in one hour along with references..

Handed it in at 6:20pm. =]
I'm quite proud.. and the essay wasn't half bad either!

Well, I'm going to go have a break now!

P.S. Drak's font sucks!

R.I.P. Assassin's Asylum

I'm waiting infront of my anatomy lecture rite now...

Should be studying for tonight's exam but i checked the blog just because my blog senses were tingling. And they were tingling for a reason.

We will miss you Assassin's Asylum.

And yes... it is an alliteration. Mmm.... rhetoric devices.

I’m Just messing around here

Does this font look like segoe print? And in how many places? as this font is only available in vista and up? and yeah, i changed the name of the title hacked together a title image in paint….. if you have a problem

then just say something, i’ll switch it all back…. Assassin’s asylum had good alliteration (i think that’s the one), but Prodigy’s Omen is so much of a slicker and more imposing name? yes? no? maybe so? this has the makings of being Legen…. wait for it….

screw you, never saw a single episode :P

Posting to Catch Up?

Dang... for the first time in many months I feel pressure to post because everyone else is posting. It kinda makes me all teary eyed.

In other news, I shouldn't be posting right now coz i have an exam... today... haha. Although I think I know my stuff... I probably don't. I have Exercise Physiology at 5:30pm to when i finish which is no later than 6:45. So here is how my day looks.... some of you may beat me... but... whatever:
12:30 to 2:30 -> Basketball ( I will rant about this later)
2:30 to 3:30 -> Anatomy Lecture
3:30 to no later than 5-> Anatomy Lab (looking at abs for this lab... yay cadavers)
Lab finish to 5:30 -> last minute review of exercise physiology exam
5:30 to 6:45 -> ex phys exam
7 to 10 -> Children's Literature

All in all... about 9 hours on campus doing actual class and not just studying. And to start off the day, Basketball.

I don't know what image you have of me in sports, I am in no way, shape, or form good at basketball. Volleyball is nice... tennis is kool (yay i can play tennis now! i challenge u!)... but basketball? Ok ok, swimming was PRETTY horrible. But I can understand that, water and I don't mix well; plus, there were other people who weren't that great at swimming too. But basketball??? I think everyone in Kin is actually good at basketball... like wow... of course there are those who aren't as "experienced", but ahhhh! My stamina... does no exist. I think my heart is like the size of a pea... I go on for 5 minutes and i'm done. It's actually very annoying and frustrating. I'm not super competitive, but I don't like to feel inferior to everyone else... even the girls man. I like to be not superior, but good enough that I can play pretty decently and help out the weaker players. I guess it's another eye-opening experience to see how it feels to be a weak player... ever since i've been playing volleyball and tennis I've just taken the sport activities lightly. Perhaps a build up of hidden pride? Time to be humbled and actually have to try to get good marks.
With that aside... somehow the instructor of the course knows my name... and just seems to only know my name. I don't remember what his full name is... but maybe his first name is the same as mine. I'm just sorta weirded out how I'm always hearing "good job Gary" (but to me, i'm actually doing a bad job... but that's not the point). Yah... don't know what's happening there.

Anyways, maybe i should get some studying done. Maybe I can do some studying whilst posting. Exercise physiology. Basically going over the respiratory system and cardio. So, the lungs and the heart and how it reacts to exercise and influences exercise as well. First off, learning how the basic system works. How blood gets oxygenated and deoxygenated. Knowing why and the processes that help blood get oxygenated and deoxygenated. Having high partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli and low pp. of oxygen. Yay diffusion. Knowing what tidal volume, vital capcity, expiratory reserve volume, inspiratory reserve volume, etc... is... when we exercise what happens in our bodies that let us compensate for the lactate generated and the oxygen usage and carbon dioxide production.

ok you know what, this is kinda getting boring. Hopefully, one of u readers figured out how boring that paragraph was getting and skipped to this one. Even I got bored. Ok. Time to study. Hopefully.

Squash was surprisingly fun

Just played my first game/hour/session of squash today, with a few friends and i do have to say, it is not as lame as it looked before. It was like tennis, but only you get to hit the ball more frequently, and no more chasing of dumb balls that go astray. So it has been decided to go play squash once a week with this group of people. Now to attempt to hunt more lame sports which will become fun when I actually play them, like... curling, and darts... etc.

Edit: so all in all, i recommend this. Raquet, ball, court, game face, done.

The Elegant Universe

If your bored, and you don’t mind watching documentaries (or an entire season of one), the above link will give you a pretty good idea of the current popular physics theories on the fundamentals of the universe.

Sigh, I have the last three episodes of House downloaded on my home computer, and no time nor the patience to actually see them through, and you people want me to watch all these other “great” shows and movies…. maybe on the morning/afternoon commute, somehow.

*Edited for clarification...

Quick Post

Another essay for my awesome history of china is due in two days.. and I do not know my topic yet.
I welcome two sleepless nights without lucid dreaming!

So quick post before I get started on reading my history text, nothing too interesting in my life. I am however trying to email some profs on getting a volunteer position in a research lab so I can both work and volunteer during the summer and won't be bored out of my mind! I'm hoping this summer will be legend.... wait for it =P DARRRY!

I watched way too many eps of HIMYM lately, please forgive!
Alright, Peace Out "Bros"!

P.S. UU!
I do have imob, but i'm never online due to the lack of wifi around me!
I am around lvl 9? I tend to forget, but I wasn't very good. I was a mongol I think! Complete opposite for a kid studying in life sci.. but that's how I roll not in RL!

March 3, 2009

Having finished my midterm era, I now move on to the calmer parts, or "filler"s of my life as some might like to call it and find myself with some time. Where I hopefully will be able to complete one post. As an add-on to posting today, I've compiled a small list of things to hopefully get done during this 1 or 2 week period free from exams. So technically this my reading week, free of reading. I'm never actually free, a "light" day such as today consists of probably at least 4-5 hours of studying to catch up from falling behind during midterms.

- Make a few cell phone ring tones, I've got a couple that I have in mind, but just never having time to sit down and find a music file editor, AND find where i misplaced the usb to phone connection, unless i wanted to go into bluetooth between my laptop and the cellphone, but that again would take more researching.

- Sort music, put in ipod, listen!, i've been listening to things from months and months ago because I haven't done this in so long. So difficult to keep things ordered and i haven't found a music program that I like.

- Day 1 of using a planner, please let it continue...
This list was alot shorter than I anticpated, I think was just the "official" version of it but anyways onto the next topic, not as formal as everyone else, I did listen to the fray's new album and I actually did like, it is true that many songs did sound similiar, but i felt like they kept true to their original album which worked out well for them the first time around. Lately though, two albums which have been on repeat for me have been akon's "freedom" album and kanye west's "808 & heartbreak" album. A slight change, but throwing in different genres here and there do help me to get that mix from when i lazily play through the whole albums rather than stay with a comfortable playlist, in the attempt to get more albums lsitened to, however bad they may be, I tried scarlett johannsen's 2008 album recently, i believe its a year old. To be blunt, it was very strange and she sounded like a man.. i had never heard her sing before but pictured the type of genre i thought the album would fill, it didnt. I'll probably give it another attempt another time to make sure I wasn't biased but it did not leave me wanting to go back for another listen.

30 second Rant section (not really wanting to use proper grammer, although not like my grammer was very good anyways): What's twitter, i keep hearing about it, -m&m go get imob, its fun. if you do friend code, now., - note to self: stop playing tetris on facebook, sprint mode is addicting, - I do agree with standardizing our blogs title with the url name. It has always confused me, someone post a story of what it meant. Although i'm sure someone already did, Repost!, - People say 30 rock is good, i should find out for myself, as are - slumdog millionaire, waking life, and...

Finally...

It's friday... or saturday now, but it was friday when I started writing.
Finally an end of this chaotic and hectic week that it has been.

To start, I apologize for not updating and posting on the blog for the past year or more. Frankly, things got in the way, however I have not forgotten about it. I do in fact check this blog regularly.

Let's just start off by what happened this week with my 2 midterm, 2 prelab/post lab, and a couple of quizzes during this week alone. Despite all the time I had in reading week, I still ended up exhausted from studying. I probably slept about a combined good 15-20 hours this week? Averaging around 3 hourish from 5am to 8am or sometimes I get lucky (overslept) and wake up at 10-12 in the morning to realize how truly screwed I am. [/sarcasm] I manage to do okay on my labs and tests without too much difficulity for once my attempt to study did not end up as an epic failure.

You would think after high school, you would be used to cramming, and the way I go through high school and 1st year definitely made me think quick on my feet. Some of the techiques I am about to share are top sercet and 100% animal tested!

1st - Since you have been skipping for quite some time now, 12 hours of lecture awaited my cramming session. Solution? Speed up the lecture recording by 3X, 12 hour lectures in 4 hours? Simple and efficent! However requires 120% focus and mental concentration!
2nd - Further expansion from the pervious point, do some work during commutes. I was able to listen to the equivalent of 12 hours of lectures in similar two round trips on the subway.
3rd - This point is rather abstract: invent a time machine and go to the future when you are done the exam. No more cramming!
4th - Probably the best one yet, one must understand that reading week is called reading week for a reason!

Furthermore, let's look beyond this depressing life of mine and into the summer. Stupid winter, why does it seem it lasts forever! That's it, I am moving to vancouver! Then I do have to wear my fcuk scraf which I had lost recently. I know, just my luck. However if unknownuser manages to find it in the back seat of his car then please tell me =]. My memory is foggy about its location, prehaps it's from the lack of sleep. Running on with this, did you know? (family guy music/eps) that infact people tend to make up fake memories when they don't sleep very well. I guess that is probalby the reason I tend to fabricate my own theory on test and protest about it after I get my test back! Oh I forgot, this was suppose to be my summer, hopfully I can find some other interesting job other than tutoring, but what I am looking forward to is to finally travel to china!

Hopfully, I will learn and fix my whitewashed/broken up chinese! However, I did order at bubble tea in chinese! Amazing indeed! During my time in china, I hope to post here more often and label my posts as Peter Finally Goes To China Day X!

To continue, I saw drak recommending a few albums, I will definitely check some of them out (the electric/pop one), I thougth I would give reviews to some of the new albums that I have listened to recently!

Let's start with
The Fray - The Fray 3.5/5 - I know that drak has been listening to this album as well as u.u, but I must say.. it's a disappointment for me. Their last album was way better.. one hits/album wonder? We will see

Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You 2.5/5 - Only amusing song on this album is "Fuck You", youtube it.. I find myself smile-e-e-e at this. If you didn't catch my drift there.. listen to Smile - Lily Allen from her old album

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Lonely Road 4.5/5 - It's similar to the Fray's album, but with more style and vibe rather than the monotone stuff you heard on the Fray's latest album.

John Legend - Evolver 4.5/5 - This one is for some of you guys that might not listen to alternative rock, pop rock or just regular o' rock.. John legend was always one of my favourite artist, and his lastest album is something worthwhile to check out..

Gym Class Heroes - The Quilt - And lastly, a hip hop album but with a twist. Just listen to some you guy will see even though I know you guys arn't big fans of these.

That's it for now, I might add more later. I have been sampling alot of main stream music, I will dig up some indie band later!

Btw, I got twitter! It's boring but add me if you have it =]!

It's 5am, I am too tired even though this is my regular sleeping time noadays anyways, hopfully I will make a new post soon enough..

Until then.. Enjoy this insightful paragraph concerning M&Ms

P.S. What's with my username? Maybe I should change it... any thoughts?

Blog Renovations

This takes me back to the Year 2005 when we just started out and had to think up of a name and template that would represent this blog. Countless hours on photoshop and trying new layouts... those days...
...
ARE BACK

oo... colourful. since Drakonen won't post up his post about his proposal I'll just post it in for him so when we all read this we can actually get the train of thoughts going. Basically, as great as the name "assassins asylum" is..., and it's pretty nice... aliteration + the word assassin ftw, it boggles the world when our URL for the blog does not match our title. Are people in the right place? Who knows.
So what Drakonen is proposing is we:

1. Change our blog name
Maybe to match our site address? Prodigys Omen. Or maybe if you can think of something else that everyone else would agree with.

and what I'm also proposing is we:

2. Change our blog layout/template
We may possibly have a meeting about this but for now, just something different than what we currently have? Perhaps something that represents what this blog is about/reflection of the blogs name.

This may or may not keep us busy for the next few months... maybe.
Anyways, I'm out for my 2 in a row.

Stepping in Before the 4th in a Row

Drakonen seems to have gotten himself a streak of posts that I never would've predicted. Though I am both shocked and pleased (I was shaking from joy) I shall now break his streak because i'm evil like that.

So yah, my birthday was a few days ago and it was spent studying. I basically woke up, went to class, got a hair cut, and then studied. It was pretty sad, but I'm antisocial like that too. Though this may get some depressed, my birthday was celebrated the next day thanks to a friend. It was a relatively nice Tuesday, eventhough I do miss my movie tuesdays. The reason I don't watch movies on Tuesdays anymore is because I don't have time =(, but for a good reason i guess. Let's explain (otherwise this post would fail in comparison to Drakonens).

Tuesdays used to consist of one class in first semester, Anatomy. That was from 2:30 to 3:30. Then I had all the time I needed to buy a ticket, go back home to relax, then go back out for the movie. Buying the ticket ahead of time saved me the trouble of the long line ups during the evening. Now, my tuesdays consist of a sports class from 12:30 to 2:30 which used to be tennis, now has changed into basketball. In the afternoon after Anatomy, I have a bit of time to relax until I have Men's Cell. Fellowship (talking about the Asian Christian Fellowship) at school is pretty big and it's pretty hard to get to know one another. That's where smaller groups branch off, one of them being Men's Cell which is basically a group of guys that meet about once a week to talk about manly stuff... just to put it vaguely. So far, we talked about purity and how to stay pure and currently we're going through a series on leadership. It's pretty helpful and I'm learning a lot. Putting it into action i find more difficult. We'll see what the results are soon I guess. But yes, this currently takes up the time I would normally take to watch a random movie for ONLY $5. So I an now currently not collecting scene points... therefore no free movies anytime soon.

Just to somewhat follow along the lines of applying the field of study to the posts, this was a thought that lingered in my mind since last year when we were learning about the reproductive system. I don't need to explain what that is because everyone should already know unlike Drakonen's very technologically advanced friendly speech was found to be very confusing to me... although I got the gist of it. But when we attempt to reproduce, one egg is attacked by thousands of sperm. Out of those thousands of sperm that swims up towards to egg, a few make it to actually try and break through the egg and get inside. And out of those few who gets the privelege of attempting to break inside, only one makes it. You and perhaps your life could have been so much different if it had been a different sperm with a different combination of chromosomes broke into that one egg and fertilized it. Perhaps one sperm was just micrometers away from breaking through that wall... but another sperm was just one micrometer ahead of it. You are who you are now because that one sperm made it through, and the others didn't. Way to go.

Anatomy is also pretty interesting. It just makes you realize how fragile the human body really is. So many things can go wrong inside your body that it just makes me thankful that I'm healthy (at least that's what I think) or relatively healthy right now. There are people around the world who are constantly battling some form of disease caused by genetics or some alien virus or mutation. Don't take life for granted, it can be so easily snatched away from you any moment. So sad.
Perhaps when I'm desperate someday, I can go into a little more detail.

In other news, I just finished my anatomy bell-ringer today. Basically had to go around to each station and either identify a structure or identify its function. If people hadn't told me some answers, i would've totally failed. Obviously though, I had to be able to know when those answers are appropriate, but still. I need to study a lot harder. =S.

Edit: had to take out a prefix... i remember doing edits and actually putting the edit in a post... so useless but awesome

Two in a row? yes, this is a collapse of a time space continuum… by 1/10^100092 of a second…. so you didn’t notice

Err…. this will be short, but I find that Jon and Gary have comparable tastes in music, and they always drop band names, but at times when no one has an opportunity to listen (another excuse to get a data plan). So I have three albums I've been listening to lately, since I get my music in album form, instead of individual songs. So without further adieu:

Empire by Kasabian

Coming to Terms by Carolina Liar

The Fray by The Fray

I’d post video of a song, but that's too much of a hassle as all the official links don’t allow for embedding, and the unofficial ones might be pulled down at any time… so yeah…

Also, I’m writing this inside a program called Windows Live Writer, which was one of the optional downloads when you installed the newest version of windows live messenger…. its a better editor then the default on on the blogger dashboard, but you more clicks away from the internet….. maybe there’s a Firefox plug-in that can do just as good a job?

will figure it all out

from square one

I'm going to go ahead and start from scratch and try to get past all the deserved criticism that I should be getting but hopefully won't be. I've decided to posts things that I find myself thinking about randomly to myself, but get frustrated over when I find I have nobody to share them with. Whether I need someone to reinforce my train of thought or someone to criticize and hopefully clarify them,at least this way I can look back on them and wonder what I was wondering when I wondered about wondering.

Well, I'm not sure how I got to technological singularity, but I basically found the real name of a concept which I’d kept onto the back of my head as soon as I had the slightest idea of the theory of evolution and the concepts of artificial intelligence. In short, the idea of the singularity basically defines a paradigm shift that will occur when man created artificial intelligence, one which is self aware and is thus capable of not only understanding itself but learning. The entity will be able to learn exponentially beyond the capabilities of its creators, and thus be able to create a better version of itself. In other words, the point in our future when we create a robot that is able to create a superior version of itself within its own power. How this is accomplished or when it will be accomplished is debateable, but the general consensus is that is it leaves considerable discussion towards the state of humanity. Still following?

Finding the article was like finding a lot of the discussions I’d had in my own head on paper, which ends up being a fairly unnerving by ultimately cool experience. It also made me wonder if the reason I decided to move away from Life sciences and into software engineering was in fact to aid in what I feel as an inevitable outcome of our species, maybe to get sympathy point from our robot leaders? I don’t know, or rather, don’t want to know as I’m might be found accountable to such thoughts in some time in the future.

This is made that much more complicated when you realize the limitations of our current understanding of our universe. For example, mathematics is a tool of standardized logic that we use to define things. But it is only as useful for this were there is cause and effect, or in other words, a problem and solution. Mathematics are used to describe the changes that take place to allow us to go from the state of a problem, to the state of a solution. Its a finite loop. That leaves out all the problems without solutions, and solutions which are not finite. I came across an idea that if people have learned how to do computations before mathematics, then we’d have a very different understanding of our universe. Why? Because the universe appears more and more like a computing structure, and less like a random bunch of arbitrary laws.

So to bring that random dump of nonsensical information together, can we create computing artificial intelligence within a computing universe? If that's possible, how many layers in are we already, and can you dig yourself out? This just makes me wonder….

So that was some of the things I’ve had on my mind today, and it actually feels good to put it out on in words in front of me. Hopefully, I can actually do this again sometime soon….

P.S. Consider this my birthday present to you Gary, err, a continual one....

P.P.S. I’ve changed the theme of the blog back to something basic, because I had trouble reading it (sorry Gary) and also… its time to retire Assassin’s asylum…. Prodigy’s Omen is so much better…

The 2nd Backtrack Memories

I don't usually post these kind of posts mostly because it started as pretty informal and now we're not posting much anymore. It's ok though, we're all so busy with school that we just don't find the time to write down our memories anymore.

I've just been looking back at our past posts and I found it very amusing and eye-opening. I discovered that I was a real jerk. But I think it all worked out somehow in our friendship chemistry. I'm still on January 2005 only because we posted so much in the beginning and it's taking me forever to read through them all. Also finding myself fast-tracking to potential future posts that I remember and laughing at them too. It's just sad that when I get to 2008 or even 2007, that the posts will start slowing down at an exponential rate... and then I won't be able to be entertained by our childhood anymore.

On a more serious side, I do apologize to you guys. I was a jerk back then man. I look and read and I just wanna slap myself. Complaining about Nimalan when he has a perfectly legit reason to not post so often. I don't know what his reason is now... I'm pretty sure (i'm hoping) that it's pretty legit too. Just goes to show how crazy awesome my friends are; to be able to put up with me is a task not to be taken by weak souls.

So I wanna apologize and thank you for just being so kool. I hope this blog will make it to its 1000th post eventually. However slow it may be. This is probably the sappiest post I have ever written in my life of posting. Time to find out if it is =)

A woodstock weekend.

So it started snowing, alot. With snow actually on the ground now, and more seeming to be coming everyday, its starting to feel like winter all over again. With all that summer that we were spoiled with, I've totally forgotten what a canadian winter feels like. Actually its not just the winter but like latefall, winter, earlyspring. There'll be alot more cold coming, and somehow i'll have school right when all the snow is hitting the most. As i've never experienced waterloo in the winter, it'll hopefully not be too bad of an experience, walking from class to class, i'm sure there'll be many more people making use of the fact that the majority of the buildings are in someway connected through some sort of underground, ground, over ground passage way linking them together. Now getting to and from school is still unshielded and i'll have to face some cold. And i sense terribly messy and wet lecture halls and floors everywhere, which will be something new to me. Long walks to get to the gym may be reduced as winter probably will bring out the laziness in everyone. Maybe it'll mean i'll study more?

First blog in a while...

So its been 3 months already that i've been doing a co-op term over at a manufacturing plant in Woodstock, Ontario. I Should have a ton of time, and yet I haven't ever posted... honestly maybe not even last term? I really don't remember, I just know its been a while. Living in a small town, like really small, like I thought waterloo was already a small town... has been interesting. It does have its ups and downs, which I'm probably too lazy to list, possibly will do in another post, if I ever get around to doing this any time soon. But to sum it up, it hasn't been bad. Compared to many people who are in the same position as I am with co-op this term, i'm doing above average. In both work, development and excitement, i've found that this term has met my expectations.

Travelling back and forth between Woodstock and wherever the weekend takes me has taught me a whole new thing, "highways" before this term, i'd be the local all the way driver, but now it seems so much more efficient and plus it saves gas! not having to stop for traffic lights, and accelerating again which takes up the bulk of the gas. Anyways I ended up getting my G this term as well, and then my flu shot, and then I even picked up a bit of school work for next term... I do have too much time on my hands.

Getting back to the comparision between others in my situation, i do need to point out that it Has been strange having only such a limited number of other people with the same situation who I can relate with. It'll be something i'll have to live with for the next few years, but its just a minor damper on my mood this term. The general fun on weekends does make up for it. There could have been many routes that I could have chosen to taken this term, Some friends I know who live away from home have gotten part time jobs, to kill time. If I was anywhere futher, I might possibly consider taking that route. Work has been a nice fit for me, but I do have some free time daily which I've worked to fill, whether it be catching up with shows, hitting the ymca, or just having dinner with roomates. I've never really found myself in a crazy bind of boredem... Well A few times, but few in comparsion to the time i've been here... Not sure exactly what topic I was on before, now I seem to just be rambling about one point and forgetting about what I was writting previously. So... 12am, time to sleep. Bye.

buttheads for bloggers

Am I allowed to call my fellow blogmates as buttheads? yes... yes I totally am. why? because they will NEVER EVER READ THIS POST since THEY NEVER EVER POST therefore NEVER EVER EVEN COME HERE. Does this make me a bad person? Not really... because unlike them, I'm actually posting. And what? This is a post that they're involved in? It seems to me like I am carrying all 4 blogger's responsibility to POST something so we have SOMETHING to look BACK on!

ANYWAYS! 2 weekends ago, drakonen and unknownuser came over to london to visit me. They slept over in my room since i had both a foam mattress (for me!!) and an air mattress (for them!).

Very briefly coz I'm suppose to be writing my research paper for exercise psych rite now... Friday, unknownuser arrived at around 6 maybe. Went to zellers coz I wanted to buy extra towels/pillow cases. Didn't end up getting anything except a doughnut from Timmies. Got back home so unknownuser could drop his stuff off and drakonen eventually calls saying he's in london.
We go off around 7:25, hoping to get drakonen and then back to campus by 8 because there was our ACF coffeehouse that I wanted to go to. We arrived on time and parked at Elgin Hall, meaning we crossed the awesomenss that is the bridge that goes across Thames River. Coffehouse was nice; there was singing and acting and such =) Talked for a long while after and headed back to my place.

Next day, woke up late around 11. Loitered in my room for a while and decided everyone was mad hungry coz we just missed last night's dinner, the present day breakfast and soon to be lunch. So, with three meals in one, we went to an all-you-can-eat sushi place called Green Tea where we ate for 2 hours.... most of it waiting for an order that got lost (which was good or we would've died from too much food). There was a lot of rain at this point so we didn't really wanna do anything involving outside. So, we went over to Loblaws and bought a few things. Then went to LCBO to get a few small alcoholic breverages for me to try. Bought a baileys, fireball, and a malibu.
Don't remember what we did until night time when we went to the spoke again (where coffeehouse took place) and ate a bit of snack. Oh! i remember, we were watching my one channel t.v. that does not have a funny colour anymore coz we changed it. We decided after our snack that we didn't want to watch a movie at western films so we went to zellers and bought a risk board and played risk while drinking alcohol for the rest of the night until 2am. At this point there was a lot of snow.

Sunday, woke up super late again. Went to Jack Astors for the same reason as Saturday. Skipped last nights dinner and breakfast and now its lunch. After eating at Jack Astors, we went over to chapters to browse through a few books. Took a brief car tour of Western's campus. Then we went back to my place where drakonen and unknownuser had to get their things and return back to their rightful places.

This is the post of... echoes? I forgot my name already.

Random

Wow... so people really aren't posting... this is very sad.

I shall attempt to keep it alive the best that i can. So, second year of university... mmmm... it's been a long way since our first posts here at assassin's asylum. Through all the background changes... playing with photoshop, changing through all my names... time does not stop. This site has probably been unused by our bookmarks for a few years... perhaps it's not even bookmarked anymore.

Anyways, living off-campus is a change. Cooking... the bigger change. This year I've been spending a lot more money than usual. Because I live a 15ish minute walk from the theatre itself, it is more accessible on tuesdays when it's only $5. So far, I've watched: Mirrors, Burn after Reading (or something), Eagle Eye, Ghost Town.... I don't remember if there was anymore... oh and Wall-E.. but that was at Western Films.

Buying-wise, I've bought: Western hoodie; Lids cap; swim goggles; aeropostale hoodie, long sleeved t-shirt, and jeans; nike duffle bag and gym bag; Nike sweat pants and... track pants? and t-shirt; hollister t-shirt; american eagle polo t-shirt; and finally a pair of court shoes. WOW. all in 3 months. OH! and of course, also the most expensive item of all, an apple 4gb ipod nano and sony earbuds. GG.

I need to stop spending so much on random stuff eventhough I do use them all. the Aeropostale stuff was when I went out to the mall and found out that I was a bit underdressed so I had to buy a hoodie so i won't freeze going home (the other stuff was just on sale). For the iPod, I was just frustrated by the shuffle as I couldn't pick my songs or see what was playing. All the exercise related clothing is for my sports classes, just more convenient to wear more athletic attire than jeans (and also more comfortable). The western hoodie... I just wanted to represent. all the other t-shirts were randomly stupid buys but I still use them. Can never get enough t-shirts.

From Dusk to Dawn: Chapter 1: The Mistake

Fine... I'll post...

So this is the story of Friday, September 19th, 2008 from my point of view.

That day I had three classes, 1 hour each, another hour break in between manning the aikido booth during the breaks for clubs week at UWO. At 2:45 I decided to leave after I finished talking to a person interested in re-joining aikido after a few years break. I walked over to harvey's and bought a bacon cheeseburger that wouldn't be eaten until the trip to the greyhound station. Wearing a long sleeved shirt in what felt like 25 degree celsius weather, I was speed walking back home in london so I can pack my stuff and leave ASAP. Got home around 3:20pm; would've gotten home sooner if i either 1) walked straight home without waiting for the bus or 2) stayed waiting for the next bus because the first bus was full. However, it all worked out eventhough it wasn't done comfortably. Started waiting for the bus around 3:44pm and got to campus not knowing that the bus i took was a "special" bus so I didn't get off at the spot that I would've liked. Eventually, I walked to the desired bus stop and got to the greyhound station at around 4:30pm.
During the walk from the bus stop to the greyhound station, what seemed to be a frosh asked me if she could follow me to the greyhound station because she didn't know where it was. Only adding this part of the story in because it's random. She was going to Hamilton.
Got on the greyhound bus at 5:30pm and arrived in Toronto at around 8pm. During that time, I saw the sun go down and the sky get dark. How is this detail important? This is where the main story begins from dusk.
While waiting for unknownuser to arrive from woodstock where he's doing his co-op, I went over to Eaton Centre to take money out of the ATM machine. Then I went the Rexall store and got 4 gatorade for 5 dollars eventhough I went in there to get one arizona iced tea for one dollar.
After unknownuser arrived, we called up drakonen and put our stuff in a greyhound locker. Were we n00bs at this? yes... yes we were.
After putting our stuff in the locker, we went to a japanese resturant across from the greyhound station. I think it was a pretty satisfying meal. I was full, but not bloated. I got some marinated baby ribs set meal so it came with rice, miso soup, veggies, salad, and ice cream; all for around 10 dollars with the tax and tips included. When finished, I had to look for my sister's birthday present. Holister was closed, so I went over to HMV to get her some earphones. that's when drakonen came and everything just kicked off into hyperdrive.
So, we walked into some pub and got a pitcher of a beer that i've already forgotten the name of. It was my first time drinking beer so i pretty much hated it, but unknown user and drakonen didn't mind it at all because they are too pro. After finishing the pitcher and unknownuser and drakonen finishing their supposedly bbq chicken wings that tasted like hot chicken wings; we had more chicken wings 2 stores down. That took us to 1am, saturday morning.
Now, greyhound closes their doors at 1am and we got there 15 minutes after 1am. So, as we can deduce, we got pwned and our stuff was left in the lockers. Not having anything else to do, we had to call it a night and tried to take the subway home. Unfortunately, the subway closes at 2am and so we had to take the yonge bus all the way to sheppard and then the sheppard bus all the way back home. While in that journey home, we figured it'd be somewhat logical to stay up all night and leave at 4:30am to get our luggage. And that's what we did. Drakonen went home to sleep for he had plans and unknownuser came over to my place to stay for an hour and a halfish. Watched some t.v., I took a nap... then we left at 4:30 into the mad cold weather outside. I wore a zip hoodie plus an extra jacket on top of that and I was still pretty cold. Falling asleep every few minutes on the bus, we arrived at yonge and dundas around 5:45ish? It actually seemed shorter... but maybe it's because we kept falling asleep, and the ride there was ok smooth. No cars on the road and little people waiting for stops and getting off made for a pretty quick ride. I zoned in and out so I don't remember much about it except i felt a bit nausious after the trip. So, we got our stuff out of the lockers finally... and began our trip back home.
By now it's around 6am and so the subway... the ones that closed at 2am... reopened and we took the subway back home. When we came out to take the bus from don mills to birchmount, the sun was up and there was our end to Friday, and the beginning of Saturday 7am in the morning.
From Sunlight to Sunset to Sunrise. 3 ttc tokens. 3 university students. Around 14 hours in the making.
GG Greyhound.

I do post

Hey

Let us be unified and not have distinctive fonts. lol! my way of saying "i'm too lazy to change fonts everytime i post"

Summer is almost over. Still remember the time i wrote the post about summer ending. When i quit my job, graduated from highschool, moving to a new location. Man... Second year is about to start and I'm totally not up for it.
Summer was pretty boring for the first two months. Should make it more eventful next year. Unknownuser should be co-oping next summer. We'll see if he gets a job in toronto or not. I am in deep need of a job.
Obviously I must post about my camp experience. This year i'm actually getting pai... "paid" to chill and hang out with kids. It is a christian daycamp so i'm partnered with toronto city missions (TCM) to go to a community (in my case Bridletowne) to reach out and educate kids about who God is and what their relationship with God is. It's been a lot of fun! We have two sites, and each wednesday we combine both sites. Fridays we go on trips. So far we've been to peticote(sp?) creek, woody wood chucks, the zoo, and today we went to the ontario science center. I actually got Daniel to volunteer at the camp today coz we needed volunteers. So he was with me on the trip and got to see first hand how it is somewhat run. I haven't dreaded going to work yet, it's been tiring but its worth it. The only stressful thing about camp is planning and organizing. Once you got that down, you're pretty much set.. except for the disciplining. But that will come when the time is right.
That's about all i can say for now. For more info, you can go on facebook. You can go to my profile and see my groups. It would say "sonshine staff 08" or something like that. And another that says "sonshine daycamp bpc/cgcs" or something close. You will see a lot of pictures and videos from camp there.
If you do not have facebook or have deleted your account. I am currently making a myphotoalbum account for all the pictures. Stay tuned. Sonshinecgcs.myphotoalbum.com

Between here and there,

Posting on a 2am, partially sick, losing my voice, surprisingly not tired.

Life has been a rollercoaster, unlike many people my age, ive got school this term. Although i sometimes complain, school in the summer is actually very nice, however fast it is passing by and however few people there are still here. Being able to walk to class in nice weather does have a effect on imporinvg my day to day attitude. Summer is actually almost here. Time does pass by fast and i`m seemingly oblivious to the outside world. The lack of being able to get the news or choose to listen to it in my case is quite scary. another war or another earthquake could be going on and I wouldn`t have a clue. Its all school life over here, and the adventures trying to get through it. Half way through the term already and i`m not sure if i want it to end or not. on one hand school has started to pick up and its got a flow to it, on the other i do miss alot about toronto and my home. I say this because there is a small possibility that I might take a job here in Kitchener, Ontario. Meaning that i wont be going back for quite a while. Although, I Am going back to toronto for the long weekend, so that should be a well needed trip back. Enough talk about the future, i`ll go on to the more immediate future. The next month sounds action packed already, strangely theres too many people i know whos parents decide to concieve their 19 year olds in the up coming month. Many commitments to make, for not posting for so long i could talk for a long time about much more, but I really dont think today`s a time to be deep, it should be a time for sleep.

what a rhyme. bye.

Not Frosh No More

I was shocked with unknownuser's post so i decided to post something too... late at night... lalala

So, I'm finished all 5 of my final exams. With five exams every half semester, ten every semester, two semesters, that's 20 exams that i completed. Assuming every mid-term is 2 hours and every final is 3 hours, I've spent a bit less than 50 hours in an exam room.

The classes did pretty much fly by. Mostly because i wanted it to be finished so I could take a nap everyday. I guess you shouldn't always keep looking ahead because you might miss what's immediately in front of you which is the present; the next thing you know it becomes the past and you can't go back. Just looking back at the first day moving in, or even before that when we all went to the beach at night on the saturday. I think that was the day nimalan ran the red light. Moving out of my res confused me as I still had distinct memories of moving in. All the cars parked in front with the sophs helping the frosh move their luggage into their rooms. The first night at the back of perth with a campfire and some food. Meeting a few new people, some i talked to a bit, others i never talked to again.

I also remember december when i went out with some friends and said "man, it's been half a year already." Then riding in my car talking to another friend saying "man, it's been one year already". How time sucks. The next thing I know, School will be starting again and i'll be like "man, 4 months of summer is over already".
It's sad but true, one week of my summer is already almost over.

I have yet to sign a lease to my apartment. I should do that soon. I still got lots to do during the first week of my summer. After getting a place i need to get a job. Then I need to find an aikido place where i can train over the summer. I may also need to get my G license. How painful it is to think about what I need to do and yet i'm on the blog. Right now i'm just searching for specialty stores that I can work in. Want to work at a martial arts supply store, haha. Unknownuser is now a proud owner of a bokken bought and brought from london, ontario. He can now fight crime and be a super hero. "oooo, a wooden sword" "yes, happy birthday!" "are you serious?"

Now I must plan the getting of mario kart and my stomach is growling a lot. I'm hungry.... but it's late, i should sleep soon.

thoughts.

Months ago, I began working at Ontario Power Generation. when I first started working... Actually I dont remember what of what happened that long ago in the term. What Did i do this term? Went out a ton, bothered busy people with school, learned a new martial arts, went through another "situation", went on at least one epic adventure, celebrated my brithday (thanks gary, I will now go around fighting "bad guys"), met a whole bunch of work people, and refocussed myself for school.

I am slowly starting to remember the numerous days spent in the library last term....

All Nighter

Hey

Currently in my first All nighter for an exam. I don't really think all nighters are necessary but as part of the university experience (while i'm still here) I'm willing to make a sacrifice. Last time i tried this was for my psych project which was mad stressful.

Studying my physiology right now which is my last exam. I'll be back in toronto on wednesday. Ok.. back to studying.

Dream

Ok so today I went out to look for another house. This time it was at a condominium. Rent is 850 or 425 a person or 415 and 435 a person depending on which size room the person chooses. It was pretty nice.

Anyways, this post isn't about that. Recently, I've been searching up youtube for boy bands doing a capella. It was mostly backstreet boys, recently i searched up westlife.... and i'm against nsync coz they're not together and only two members really sing!
So, for whtever reason, I took like a 2-3 hour nap today. I don't know why, i just did. During that nap, i had the weirdest dream. I don't know how it started, but I remember a concert and it was westlife. But they were singing a backstreet boys song. The song that just kept going continuously was "i'll never break your heart". It wasn't much of a surprise since westlife did do a backstreet boys song before.... some boyband medly. It was kool. And then the next thing I know, I was singing it with them... maybe as one of them i don't know. I remember having the mike. Then the band turns into backstreet boys somehow coz the next time i look it was the backstreet boys. And it wasn't at a concert anymore. Of course this was a dream so i didn't notice anything, i didn't go "whoe! how did that change happen?"
Then after singing, we all just started talking. Somehow Brian's little boy was a girl in my dreams. And everything turned mad weird after that. Brian had to go to some place up north to consult some elders who were romans and to ask them if his now daughter could stay with them. Some kind of situation was happening... i dunno. My dreams are random. So I decided to go walk with him. Which is also stupid coz on the map, it was probably like a few hour plane ride up to the location. But we decide to walk??? Dreams... so not logical. But I decide to walk with him during the night coz i wanted some one on one talking time. Brian is too kool.

And then I receive a phone call from a friend going to the library... so i wake up. and it's over. lol! That's all

Posting what is important.

Jiu jitsu has been amazingly fun, alternating that with going to the gym, every day i get to go home tired and fall asleep easily. Although the time in which i fall asleep does seem to be later than it should be thus resulting in me being tired in the morning. Speaking of morning, I really like my schedule over at OPG.

8:00-8:45 Respond to emails/Initiate more emails, which thus takes up alot of time.
8:45-9:30 Work on my mindless data entry piles that i have to be done whenever, just so long as they are done.
9:30-10:00 Send more emails/walk around looking for work/ talk to the co op student who sits behind me.
10:00-10:30 Walk to cafeteria to buy a bagel, toast it, buy peanut butter, and eat this plus two fruits.
10:30-11:30 Carry out some kind of job of the day
11:30- 12:00 More emails, waiting for lunch.
12:00-12:45 Lunch with the other co op kids.
12:45-3:30 The afternoon, it goes by fast.

and then i occasionally use the gym at my workplace afterwards, then the hard work of the day is done. Whats not done is my work term report which is basicly a 20~ or so page report on some kind of topic that i notice in the workplace that i can solve, compare, analyze... etc... I need to do it soon. Soon i will have my birthday. On my birthday I will be 19. There are 19 more minutes before i will go to sleep.

A REAL post

Drafts... i believe they count as posts too on the dashboard. So we might really be at 598 posts... dum dum dum...

Monday again... I remember my last monday... i bought a bokken. I really don't know many techniques.... i have to youtube some stuff... but still! the handle part is very shiny.... maybe from sweat... i dunno... but it's just talking to me. "I"m shiny... swing me...." I dunno... i didn't know what to say without making it sound bad.

Finished my first year of classes! finished that last thursday. Now i'm on my exams... finished two so far. First one... was not great but i'll settle for it coz i can't do anything else.... I just have 3 more to go.

Got my second professional haircut today. At the same place.... $20.... so not worth it. The process was the same... the hair still smells pretty nice... but this person was worse than the other. She didn't even show me how the back of my hair looked. I couldn't really understand what she said either... but that's actually just me coz i wasn't paying attention. But yah, that ended up with me keeping the side burns. And I didn't have a chance to tell her i made a mistake... so i had to go back to res to shave the side burns off myself lol.
The back of my hair is still left a bit longer than I'm used to... but it's acceptable for now. Hair doesn't look that bad.. it WAS professional after all. Not going back to the same place again though....
Also doing drakonen's thing with the buying of a green tea latte after every exam. I need to get another green tea latte for the exam i just had. mmmm.... and second cup's green tea latte is a bit better than starbucks. Surprisingly... I actually had to try both.

Went out to an aikido dinner party yesterday. Sad to say there WAS drinking, but I didn't drink. lol! Partly because I promised drakonen he'd be the first to buy me a drink, partially coz i had an exam the next day and I wanted to study a bit that night, and partially because.... no.. that's it. Went to a place called Palasad. It had pool tables and bowling alleys. I went bowling... not cool enough for pool. Ate some pizza and nachos before. Best thing.. it was all FREE!!! We had a coupon for group parties... and also the club subsidized and paid for everything. It was great. Stayed there from 6 to like 12. Insane. I love our aikido club, people are great. I'm actually gonna go to the actual dojo this wednesday (hopefully). Looking forward to it. After that, we WALKED all the way back to campus... which took like 45 minutes. It was 1 degree Celsius outside and I didn't really have a jacket. I was shivering halfway.

Now I must relax a bit more. Maybe start studying for my 3 exams in 4 days starting this weekend. I may or may not post later.

just a post

Another one of the drafts which i have found and i'll decide to post, my posts all sound the same now that i look at them... they're like the intro paragraph, and then they stop because i run out of time... next time i should just skip to the body or the conclusion

My reasoning behind not posting was the idea of how I would rather be spending my time posting to be talking with possibly nobody, but seeing as there is nobody to talk to, and i do have a limited time frame before going out, I shall throw down a post.
University life seemed quite epic before it, during it, and even sometimes now. So far it has been filled with enough ups and downs to call it quite a journey. Having finished one school term and on my way to finish one co op term, I think its about time to look back on it all

Originally written/drafted 04-10-08

Back from war

Hmm while looking through the old posts, i see this one as being a draft, now reading through it i dont remember this, so i will use my admin rights to bring it out. -Jonathan (DRAKONEN WROTE THIS POST ORIGINALLY) (i thought it would post as him but apparently it turns out that it looks like i wrote it)

The war might be over, but rumour has it that it'll be started two months from now. So in that time, we'll be here at home from now. We should be preparing for the next battle, but seeing how we won the last (assuming that no one failed), I think this time of peace will be spent relaxing and with family and friends.

So, we far, its none of the above since I've been doing nothing. There was some tree climbing and such yesterday, but the fun of jumping out of trees involved intense testicular g-forces that did an then unknown amount of damage and best to let be for now. So in my time of healing, i'm playing sudoku in a book that i borrowed off a friend and never had a chance to give back.

So now, I'm bored, and since I'm assuming people actually read this, my friends of the asylum, wanna go to a buffet sometime this weekend or next week? only need to bring 20 (its not actually 20, but if we do something else)... also, two bus tickets or equivalent. ? comment your reply... for yes and no... and a suitable time

Into the second month of the second term

Hey i found this sitting in our archives as a draft so i decided to "post" this, i honestly dont remember writing this

A year ago was a long time ago... I was probably still walking 30 mins from my house to get to school each day, still trying to get into universities, doing alot of things that i'm not doing now. Alot has changed in a year, i'm in my "summer" and its probably more tiring to wake up each day for it than it was when i had school. I still get my nights off, but with few people in scarbrough and early bed times, it really isnt all that much time. Weekends are the best two days of the week just as they were last term. They really do go by too fast, I really want to use the very few sick days that i have just to make them 3 day ones, that really would be 'sick'...

Living in practically a completely different then everyone really is different. Until you actually experience going to work work, you cant really understand it. The roles, the responsibilities, and the tone of office work is very dif than university.

Girls and Relationships perhaps Pt.1

Ok, so unknownuser and I were talking about.... unknownuser's relationships because he didn't update me at all on anything.

Disclaimer: Post is just me, it's not absolute. Not meant to offend anyone. I won't do this justice because my thoughts are unorganized.

Now i'm just sleepy. Don't know if i want to do this anymore. I will try to go over everything generally and details will come later either in post form or actually talking face to face.
So let's start off with a bit of an intro. University. How it has changed me... lol, i hope. Reflecting on my life here and there has me concluding about a few things. The three most important things in my life right now is Christianity, Aikido, and Anime. I'm pretty sure I posted that part already. (btw, i bought a bokken today. very awesome).

Ever since coming to university, going to fellowship on campus, I think I've matured more in my faith. (I promise this will lead to girls). A lot of people could say they are Christians without being actual Christians. Looking back at my life, I don't think a lot of it has been very Christian like. I won't deny it, I've done some bad things in my life. But so has everyone else. The important thing is to change. I felt that I had to go back to the very beginning. As we do in every class in aikido, we do the basic movements. The movements that are basically the foundational movements of the techniques that I'll be learning throughout my life. In the same way, if i don't have a strong foundation in my faith, I won't be as strong when it comes to everything else. So my life this year has been "Back to Basics: Passion for Passion". I know, i selected an awesome motto/theme for my year. Basically, the very foundation of Christianity is just loving God with all your heart, mind and soul. God loves us and so when we love God too and establish that relationship, everything else will follow. Love, it's tough, but once u know what it is in your heart, everything just turns out fantastic.

Ok, sorry, had to get through that. If you have more questions, i would love to answer. But right now, girls. So that paragraph did have a purpose!!!
Because I'm trying to become more serious about my life, I want someone who is serious about theirs. Not serious as in "no fun at all" serious. But serious enough to make the most of their lives and live for what's important. I would like a girl who has the same interests as me. They may not do aikido or watch anime, but at the very least they should be a Christian. After coming to western, I've met a lot of drunken girls, tipsy girls (after knowing what tipsy meant), and i've also met girls who just loved God. This post isn't meant to offend anyone by the way, this is just my point of view. But the girls who are authentically in love with God were not just great and fun-loving in a period of time, but they're great and fun all the time, even when they're serious. It's hard to explain.
Drinking a few beers or whtever is great, but there are limits (i don't remember where i was going with this). I don't want to ramble on so i'll just get to the meat of this coz i need to shower and play with my bokken. If I were to date someone, I would date with a purpose. What is the purpose of dating? That it will eventually lead to marriage. Maybe even have a few kids. When I look at a girl and I'm thinking of possibly dating her, I would always ask "would i marry her? could I live with her all my life?"
It doesn't sound fun, but i think there's a time and place in a relationship for fun, and a time and place to be serious.
So, the first girl. Won't say the name coz it's a public blog. She is a fantastic person! always happy, I enjoy her company. She's so great in fact that I think she's out of my league. It'd be great to be with her, but I'm not at the same spiritual level as her. I'm learning a lot form her, but i think as a man, I should be stronger.
Everyone has different views. I'm not saying this is how it's suppose to be, but it's how i would prefer it to be. It's different for different people in different situations. So it's complicated. You would have to be able to discern for yourself about what you want to do with that particular person in a particular situation.
There are two other girls who are also great christian girls that i've met at western. But i'm just trying to establish a good friendship first. And if i feel a tug saying "do it" and it's not from unknownuser, then i will. (not from drakonen either) I think friendship is important first because that's how you know the real them without getting too messy.
Also, another rule that I placed for myself is asking the girl's parents first before I date her. And also ask what the girl thinks too. Relationships require two people. You don't want to forget about the girl's feelings. But parents have also invested a lot of their time, effort, and energy into bringing their child up. You can't just take their child away from them without asking them first. A good analogy i liked was if you had a mad awesome car. Whatever great car you saw or didn't see at the autoshow. So you have it in your driveway and a boy you don't even know asks if he could drive it. What would you say? No right? Isn't a daughter's life more important than a car? Know the parents and ask for their permission. I'm generally shy. So if i do ever conjure up the courage to go to the parents, i'll know the girl is worth it. Just my general rule.

Ok, i think i'll end this portion up. Bye

Yay Easter

Hey again

So it was the Good Friday/Easter weekend, therefore i went home home for the weekend. Basically spent 3 of my four days in toronto playing smash bros brawl on my wii! finally... it was the only thing i was looking forward to all month. Got that out of my system. Pretty sure by the next time I get back, all the characters will be unlocked coz my sister and her boyfriend will be playing it.

Came back thursday afternoon right after my last class. I found that it wasn't being in toronto that's really exciting since i've lived there all my life, but it's the going to the greyhound and riding on the greyhound that's exciting. Well it's not THAT exciting sitting there and just napping, but it's just... fun. I don't know. Weird.
Anyways, came home to find that my sister and company was playing smash bros so i just waited until they finished so I could start playing it. That's... all I did on Thursday.

Friday, woke up so i could go to church for the Good Friday service. Had to go to the one that spoke cantonese because I couldn't make it to the English one on Thursday. I understood maybe 45% of what they were talking about, not because I can't understand cantonese, but because my attention span is very limited. I still liked it though. After that, obviously since no stores were open, and everyone else was busy, no relatives, I was home playing smash bros almost all day. Took a break once in a while.
Easter actually trumps Christmas. I was just reminded of that. Christianity is really based around Easter which is the death and resurrection of Jesus. I mean it's great that Jesus was born, but without Easter, Christianity would lose most of its core beliefs.

Anyways, saturday smash bros, and sunday i went back to western without playing smash bros =(. I got a lot of instant noodles though. yay!

I guess I should post something or else no one will...

very upset about my exam marks. I'm gonna have to spend the last month of school studying hardcore. So annoying, I've never gotten such low marks consistently. I usually get one bad mark, and then do better next time. There are those who do well in high school and suck at university, and there are also those who sucked in highschool and do extremely well in university. I'm part of the first group... i did fairly well in high school... and now i suck at uni. of course there are those who do consistently well. What lucky people...

I'll b coming back home for easter. Possibly my last greyhound trip back home. But we never know, i might decide to go home again during exams or right before exams. Looking forward to possibly playing super smash bros brawl. Should b back thursday... maximum playing time.

Weird thing happened on sunday. I actually woke up laughing. It was so stupid, i had a pretty funny dream and i kept laughing until i was awake. I believe i even snorted. i couldn't stop laughing until i was conscious enough to know it was a dream and i had woken up.

599

Ok people, I am doing the 599th post. SO, if anyone wants to make us happy and do the honors of writing the 600th i wouldn't mind. If it inspires you to post something so be it. It doesn't need to be significant. just POST!

I finished the Prince of Tennis manga... that's pretty important to me coz prince of tennis was the first anime I downloaded and watched instead of just watching it on t.v.
It was the series that started the anime-crazed era that is my life. Although it would be more significant if i finished the actual anime instead of the manga coz i didn't start from the beginning for the manga.

Yah... that be all. Please someone post something.

Reading Week

My reading week was pretty fun actually... i believe it was better than my 3 weeks of my Christmas break.

So, i basically didn't do any reading. I'm at the UCC (university community center) attempting to study. I refuse to go back to my rez before reading some bio. Yet i still continue to procrastinate. Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday were the days i actually did stuff.... Sunday I went to church but that's about it. On the days I didn't do anything I played flyff and started watching a new anime called bamboo blade which is an anime about kendo.

So lets start with friday. I had my chem exam at 7pm which is why i couldn't go back to Toronto on Friday. I didn't do too well on it... and based on what i glanced at other people's walls on facebook they didn't do too well either. I was mad relieved when the exam was over though...

Saturday was my birthday. Thanks unknownuser for sneaking a 20 dollar bill in my pocket... i used that and now i have no money. And thanks drakonen.. for the free test drive haha which probably would've happened anyways whether it was my birthday or not but thanks. The test drive at the autoshow was amazing. First time in a long time driving. It was especially fun since i didn't have to care about gas. My driving is usually uber conservative (don't step on gas too strongly getting a nice cruising feel). After watching initial d, i try to drive so people don't notice me accelerating or braking. Nice smooth drives are great. However, i didn't care about that on the test drive, smoothness was not a necessity although i didn't go too overboard as many of the other drivers did.
I don't like the sound of the engine. I don't know, many people think it's kool to hear the engine roar... i find it very annoying lol. It's noisy...
Don't know much about cars, so i'll leave any autoshow business to unknownuser and drakonen if they ever post.

Monday went to the dentist. Then I hung out with my church friends, went kbbq which was mad expensive for a meal. I can get full with a 7 dollar chinese meal... but no... a 17 dollar kbbq has to be the social thing to do.
after that we just went to our youth pastor's house and played a board game while just chatting and chillin. Also went bbt.

Tuesday I didn't do much either except go to volleyball at my church. Didn't do that for SO long. Vball was ok, I was a bit rusty so i wasn't too happy. It was fulfilling to finally go there though.

Wednesday I didn't do anything except flyff and watch bamboo blade. I'm almost level 30 now... yes... it is a feat. None of my characters usually get above 25 like gunbound (i don't even know if they have levels), neopets, gunz, maplestory. Everything usually gets harder to level up once u reach 21 so i usually just quit after that. The only exception is diablo II. I think it was 30 or 40 something for that. Go barbarian! u... necromancers.

Thursday... the main thing was basically going to jiu jutsu with unknownuser and then destiny's with both unknownuser and drakonen. Jiu jutsu was fun and tiring. I watched the jiu jutsu club today after aikido and I was like "i wanna try! I know some stuff tooo now!" but i resisted. I just liked the fact that I can do basically anything when just free sparing in jiujutsu. Although I couldn't implement my aikido skills to its full extent I still used it a bit. I'll probably join the actual aikido center in london though... next year haha. 70 dollars for 3 months (20 dollars off regular price since I paid 20 dollars for western's aikido club so it was actually suppose to be $90 student price). Looking forward to that next year. I only have 2 months left this year so it's not worth it.
Speaking of which i have an aikido belt test March 16th. Going for my yellow belt! no stripes! lol... although it'll probably be a bit harder since i'll be tested on 2 techniques, not just the basic movements.
Destiny's was fun too. Drakonen was kinda high.... don't know what they put in that green tea latte.
They didn't put ice or a straw in mine and it tasted a bit diet as well. If they didn't put tapioca in it i would've freaked out. I did not get drunk this week... sad or good? don't know

Friday I was planning on going to fellowship but the weather was pretty bad. Normally it wouldn't stop me, but I wanted to do something else. I was watching stuff on youtube and I stumbled upon the usage of ki energy. It's interesting too and I've been trying to become sensitive to my ki but it hasn't been working out so far. Apparently some people sense their ki very fast and others take time... or basically some people are just gifted at it and others aren't. And from the looks of it I'm not. But everyone can use it through meditation and stuff. No, it does not conflict with my Christian beliefs. So this will be fun. I'm actually interested in ki therapy. Using ki to heal others. It'd be useful if i can do it. There are actual classes.. but they're like 70 dollars for level 1. and other levels cost more. Same with CPR! that's like 70ish dollars too... i think. Kinesiology is so expensive... lol. But yah, if u ever go onto youtube, check out ChosonNinja's stuff. It teaches a lot of different martial arts and has different philosophies as well .... i dunno. It's not one of those Chinese philosophies, just i think neutral stuff. He's a christian too... if that bothers u then... don't check it out? haha...

Saturday, was suppose to go drinking with drakonen friday night, postponed it to saturday morning/afternoon... and ended up not doing it at all. How disappointing. So i did nothing Saturday except pack and watch a bit of t.v. Then I left for western.

Now I'm here... trying to study... yet posting on this blog that no one uses anymore. -sighz-

edit: OH and i ate PHO!!!!! FINALLY ON THURSDAY! thank u unknownuser. that is all

When History somewhat repeats itself

Now that we're in university, I'm pretty friggen scared about plagiarism. It's not that I plagiarize, it's just I don't know how great my paraphrase skills are.
I had to do a Psych project requiring me to make a presentation on powerpoint but not actually present it. The presentation should be 15 slides including title page, body, conclusion, and references. We were told that we'd have to do this since october... however i chose to do most of the work 2 days before the due date which was February 21st (today). My topic was on the evolutionary significance of music which i found to be a bit interesting. Well I had to or else i wouldn't have picked it. We basically had to think of a good question related to psychology and submit the question with minimum of 2 articles by january. Then we had from january to february to do the slides. However, making the slides is not the long part, it is reading and understanding all my articles that took forever. Even after reading the articles i had trouble organizing my slides. It's over now, however it was not fun. I could have done better, just like how i could of done better in my physio exam that i pretty much ran out of time and had to guess 2 answers (no time for educated guess, it was random guess).

So, due to the project, I attempted my first all-nighter. It was not all night, i stayed up to 4:45 and my body could not take it so I let myself go to sleep. Had to wake up at 9 to get to class, but decided to skip it and finish my project as staying up all-night did not accomplish everything. Eventually I had to go through all my classes, skipped my bio tutorial to finish the project. So from reading the articles to producing the slides it took around 18 hours in 2 days. It looks nice, but i'm not sure if the content is up to par.
My next all-nighter hopefully takes all night with no sleep not because i don't want to sleep but because i just want to say i stayed up all night. I found that after 3:30... productivity decreases. My main productive times are in the afternoon and from maybe 10 to 2:30.

Have to study for chem now. I would do an allnighter for chem, but 2 all-nighters in a row is not something i'd like to do before saturday.

Hacky Sack

Unknownuser... bought me a hacky sack for christmas and now i must semi-master it like the rubik's cube. However, it's not going as smooth as the rubik's cube where i just learned to do it in like a day. Hacky sack takes skill ><. I am just waiting until there's enough neuronal representation in my primary motor cortex for the foot is present so i can actually perform the skill without trying too hard. But yah, this could take a while. And when i master the hacky sack, i'll go into juggling with my hands. That could be for the summer or something.

But yah... hacky sack... -sighz-

short post..

a post about a one post

There was just ONE post last year in february??? This is very disappointing! Although not as disappointing for me coz it was my one post that provided a link for february 2007.So it was basically last year that we started declining in posts. So sad...

Most of my posts will be looking back at past years because that's what this blog is about. Reminiscing about what we did around the same time last year. I was driving last year... i'm not driving at all this year. That's not suppose to happen. I'm suppose to drive more as years go by. I could've had my G license by now. Also, reading the comments, nimalan wasn't on msn for a while. WHERE ARE YOU???
what else did i talk about... hmmm... no girlfriends... (jeez this is getting depressing), and birthday coming up in less than a month. 19th birthday... legal for drinking... although i don't plan on drinking now do I plan on drinking with underaged kids =P

I'm in university now... i'm suppose to be studying. I'm currently at the weldon library supposedly studying for psych test on thursday and a physio quiz in a few hours yet i'm here posting because posting is a good procrastination tool. Also because i'm trying to get the post count up to 600 all by myself (with a little help from unknownuser of course). I'll probably be back this weekend. Chinese new year on thursday?

Anyways i'm gonna close my laptop for now since i didn't bring my charger so it's running solely on batteries after my one hour lecture.

Thanks for reading.

Oh, and i also started and finished elfen lied. Yah... starting a few new anime series now.

Post about a non-post

Oh Unknownuser.... all these drafts that are not posted.... lol!

Yah... my titles suck.

Anyways! January 29th, this shall be the day (although i'm posting now on January 30th) that I have received my first Gi from aikido! yaaaaaaah! I thought I'd share my happiness. During classes, i'm usually the only one without a gi or the uniform we wear for training. I felt like i was the odd one out.... coz I was. I had a yellow stripe belt and yet i was all the way down the line where the beginners were. I had a white belt that was lined up in a higher rank than me (wearing a belt with regular clothes really looks... blah). So yah, maybe buying something like that will get me to be more serious about the art.

I just came back from a retreat with a christian fellowship from school. This won't be anything religious, i'm still talking about aikido (although i really shouldn't be... i feel bad). We had a snow ball fight! and all i thought during that time was "I CAN USE AIKIDO HERE!" but i didn't. I was a pacifist for the whole fight. Although aikido has sharpened my dodging skills. I dodged two snow balls that were thrown within a meter away from me and both snowballs hit the same person behind me. It was hilarious. Next time, i will be ready to fight.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi! anime! watch some of it.... =D only 50 episodes. All on veoh. don't even need to download it. Guy learns jiu jutsu, chinese kenpo, karate, muy thai, and weapons. There's one person who uses tae kwan do i believe.... no judo though. There's sumo.... haha! for like 1 episode. No aikido though, so don't worry unknownuser.... don't feel left out.

Three Years

As one can probably tell, this blog has gone on for little over 3 years now starting in december of 2004 with just a guy named drakonen verifying his own existence. The good thing about our blog early on is that we posted almost everyday so it allows me to look back on what happened exactly 3 years ago. There was no January 12th post but there was an 11th and 13th. I had the stupid music project that i did last minute. I still remember that coz it's probably the most stress i felt doing a 3 month project in maybe 2 days. I believe drakonen came over to help too. A funny thing to also see is that i was looking for a martial art that was right for me. Now I have one! dang... how we've grown. I was so energetic in my posts... now when I read my posts it has a more...non...energetic feel to it.

We still need a new background for this blog. I remember when we used to change the background like every week. I didn't photoshop for sooo very long.

I have to figure out when the next time i'm coming back to Toronto is. I know i'll be back either the weekend before my birthday or the weekend of my birthday. I don't know if i'll be back anytime before those two weekends, if so it'll probably be the weekend of february 1st. Yah it'll probably be february 1st then since it's in the middle of when I was in toronto and when i'll be back for... some reason later in feb. yay... you got to see my planning in action from one paragraph. Neways... just woke up an hour agoish. Have to plan the rest of my day. Probably watch a few movies off dc++ then start reading the berserk manga. At night i'll probably study since I've figured out that if i can study everything in 2 weeks, studying everything in little pieces every week should be easier.

I need a life... don't really have much of a social life but i should've established that during frosh week. Too late now.

My Break.

The break did go by so fast... but after it I honestly do not remember what being in school feels like anymore, waterloo seems like such a distant memory for me. Still looking forward to going back to it in four months or so? That ammount of time just seems gynormous. Hopefully i get stuff done here while i'm in toronto. Started my co op last thursday. A week already? it sure is going by fast. Working at a nuclear power plant with all these engineers is such a different experience. All these technical terms wizing by me, does make me feel that i still have things to learn.

Judo, martial arts really are a stress reliever. Have gone almost a month without doing it, and i've got to push myself to go out and look for one, except... something always comes up, stopping me from doing so.

Juno, didnt notice their similarity til now, not related at all though. This is a movie that i went to see twice at the theatres this week, my excuse is that it was with different people, the actual reason though was that the movie was really good, I wouldn't mind seeing it a few more times. The movie is about a girl and her pregnancy. Really is much better then that description, much. If a movie can be fullypacked and can get Everyone in the theatre laughing at some point And when a good Half of the portion of the theatre was filled with older folk that were laughing their asses off too, then it must be doing something right. Just the main character alone is enough to make someone go see the movie, and the soundtrack... what soundtrack? you'll see...

what else... got to be up by 6:30 tommorow for work and its... 1:12 already... so the else will have to wait.

New Post

I believe this is my first post of 2008. Let's take a look back at the times when all of us posted something except for maybe m&m, but still he posted a bit. Now, let us fast forward to today when only two out of the four people post even if it's just a bit. By this time next year, there will only be one person posting. This is not an independent blog. I already have an independent blog. This is a blog where 4 people participate in such activities as sharing one's story even if it's only a story about their day.

I have shared my disappointments many times. Now unknownuser has experienced the same disappointment. Feel my pain of coming to a site where nothing is updated. No new stories.... You have either done nothing during the break and have nothing to share, or you're just not kool enough to post in a blog that you've helped create.

Aikido is still fun. Still learning new techniques that I have yet to master. My dual with jonathan never happened, but i did collect 70+ stars in Super Mario Galaxy. Watched two movies one day after another, and stayed home a lot catching up on tv. I learned how to solve the rubik's cube, started to learn how to juggle, and ate a lot of chocolate. Caught up on my chinese food and home cooked meals, and also watched a lot of youtube stuff containing aikido and needle throwing. Even I found two possible aikido centres in Toronto that I might go to during the summer... although it would take money so i need to get a job first. All in all it was a great holiday. Just lining up at best buy at 6 in the morning is an accomplishment. That line was longer than abercrombie and fitch for it went all around the parking lot (I do not claim that as a fact as I didn't really get to see the abercrombie and fitch line).

Now I'm back in res at western. Got over my need to play the guitar and the need for dc+. Still noticing that martial arts just brightens your day... all this new self-confidence. Feels good... but if i sleep it'll go away.

I do not think on my posts... I simply type. I think my new paragraphs aren't really paragraphs... the breaks are just the breaks I have when i lose my concentration and start daydreaming or something. Anyways, this post could go on forever so I'll post again later. Happy New Year.
