I have returned...

I have returned...

A dark and stormy afternoon it appeared to be from afar, water rushing, fires raging, jumbled screams being heard in the distance, people running.

Actually that’s what would have happened if I came back a day later and somehow came back from France? (who knows why I would do this but…)

Monday morning 6am here 3am back in Sanfransico, bright and early, we arrived back in Toronto… with me not having slept at all, and still not appearing tired. So as soon as I got home I attempted to catch up with friends on msn but slowly things began to become slower and slower as I lasted til 10am here or 7am without sleeping at all throughout the night… When it finally kicked in… I was forced to sleep, waking up somewhere before nighttime thus ending my first day back…

Well back to the trip which I was supposed to post an incredibly long post about… which probably wont be nearly as long as I think it will be by the end of it… to be continued?

Edit:

Japan for five days
Covered a bit of this on the random days that I was able to post

50 million workers and 10 customers
I don’t know if I went at the wrong time but every store probably had more people working there than the number of customers, meaning most of the workers were just standing around or outside shouting stuff in Japanese and handing out tissues with advertisement on it… the food section in the department stores had to have at least 100+ workers there just standing around handing out samples…

You know those packs of tissues you buy for a dollar? Well they hand it out for free in Japan

Collected at least 20+ of those… and this is supposed to be advertisement? Who looks at the back of the pack and can read Japanese anyways.

Arigato Gozaimasu

Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu, Arigato Gozaimasu meaning thank you very much, I have heard this phrase so many many times that’s while I have learned a new word in a week, it can get to be annoying…

Macdonalds Terriaki Burger
Tastes like the sausages they serve at breakfast only in a bun and flattened into a patty (I wonder…)

Malaysia for ten days
Family food, and more food and family…
- everyone there thinks that all of Canada’s police rides horses like the rcmp
- they only know Canada from postcards, Toronto is identified by its C.N Tower
- think Canada is really, really cold, when it was probably hotter in Toronto when I was there in Malaysia.

Typical Day
Met new relatives for the first time, eat, and if we had time a bit of shopping and sightseeing (not much since it was on a small island), maybe one modern mall?

The Capital of Malaysia KL (2 days in between there)
”The worst city for traffic ever”…
Most of the streets are one way so you have to actually go around in circles following the one way just to get to a place which you normally could have gotten to by just turning a few times… Two lane streets with half of them being motorbikes and not even following the rules of taking up a lane but just going in between cars and on the outside of them… and the traffic at night? An hour to get about three blocks away…

Getting Sick
Getting Sick in a foreign country… not good… I had to be taxied to the hospital at 1am in the morning… The hospital was fairly empty as it was one in the morning, so they let me in fairly quickly… They said it was a chest infection… who knows, didn’t take the xrays… Anyways with all the painkillers and antibiotics they gave me, I got better… painkillers are scary though because they do actually “take the pain away completely” and completely numb the area that the needle was in…

San Fransisco for last 3 days
One aunt who lived there, took us around showed us the city...
- its probably colder there than it is for most of the time in Canada
- saw the golden gate bridge, some other areas and things that people have probably not heard of…

Skimpy posts but there wasn’t all that much to talk about without revealing too much. So all in all, not the most exciting or things to talk about trip but it was defiantly an eyeopener…
