Was away for a week, as seen in the repetive green posts by s.s. Away at a music camp as a staff assistant for campers gr 3-8...
note that this post is two days late... here goes...
well i came back from camp saturday afternoonish, horribly covered by mosquitoe bites 50+, rashes on arms and neck, recieiving a small cut on my forehead from basketball (dont know how its possible either),and being dead tired from weeksworth of 1am+ - 7am ( i'm someone who needs my sleep).
Ok back to the beginning,
so friday night leave for the camp, drive around the yorkdale parking lot looking for a bus, i see a yellow school bus but then drive past thinking that cant be it, keep driving and driving and eventually i realize that it is what i was supposed to ride... a school bus!~?! dang they are cheap...
so from there find a couple of people... couple meaning one or two people from my grade and some other people from higher grades... the two people from my grade arent much as i well at that time hadn't talked alot to them. When the camp said it started accepting assistants from gr 10 and up it truly meant it as the gr 10s probably made up less than 10% of the entire group.
The bus ride there was somewat interesting, with all the different schools grouping up and *sitting all together... everyone either playing cards, needing to go *pee but couldn't due to this yellow bus, and the two hourish ride there didn't help... All better though once we got there, everyone scrambleing to the washroom...
Then we were given the opportunity to unpack dragging our army of luggage back to our cabin... me with my bass clarinet in one hand, dufflebag/stroller luggage + sleeping bag in the other, backpack on my back... walk about ten minutes to the guys cabin which is that far from the main area with the dining room, theatre, anything important... while the girls have it just across one width of the field from it... our cabin thankfully is fairly new, no mirror though and you have to pull on the bathroom door before you can lock it umm... not much dust anywhere, there are three other councillors in the cabin which will hold 12 campers...
Later come back only to have a pa meeting which is as it always is... *Dull... not much else, go to bed hungry as they didn't serve dinner that day, only eating whatever was leftover in the fridge ( privlege thats only cool when theres actually food that we want to eat in there )... and then as always not much sleep on the first night... (listening to another staff assistants clock tick throughout the night... random water dripping, which was *supposed to go away after five minutes but lasted who knows how many hours...)
*saturday was a day of being tired from the previous day and campers... their first night... now that was a horror movie! met our campers for the first time grade 6s... from the first glance i could see who would be the quiet kids, the rebel kids, and the kids on meds... first day for dinner in which we introduce our *rules to the campers... completely made up of course... such as : Councillors eat first, if you finish the food you go get more, say please and thank you when someone passes you something... etc... so onto nightime...
the kid who was on meds was running around naked, not a pleasent sight, big belly hanging over, hitting people with towels, yelling that someone tried to strangle him...
