Firsts

This week was pretty fun. Day camp staffs bring in very interesting characters. This year may not be the same as last year, but it’s not a bad thing.

Thursday, we went to the executive director’s place in Whitby. It was a pretty ok drive… once you drive to london almost once a month… every other ride seems shorter. The place was HUUUUUGE. It was like a mansion. His yard was like the size of the park behind my house. Had burgers and hot dogs and time for reflection. Afterwards I got to drive ppl home in a car that didn’t belong to me =)! It was a very interesting experience. First time driving a friend’s car, first time driving in the express lane, first time having the tires squeal, and first time seeing a fox out on the streets.

Friday, I drove one of the staff back to his own church and I witnessed my first car accident! It was amazing!!! (not for the ppl involved… but for me). A car was about to make a right turn but stopped. The driver behind him was going too fast so he couldn’t stop and tried to swerve out of the way, but failed so the corner of both cars were hit. It was definitely an experience.

Apart from all the firsts, I went to a funeral today. It’s strange to dress formally for a wedding a few weeks before… and then dress up again a few weeks later except for a funeral. Both were a celebration of life in a way whether it be a joining of two lives… or a departure of one. The one who passed on was a sunday school teacher for me at church and I also know her kids. I think they went to Buchan as well… though a few years after us. She had been diagnosed with lung cancer I believe and it was a long hard battle. It was weird coz I actually got choked up and teary eyed for this one… and I blame it on the speech. Maybe it’s because all the other funerals were spoken more in cantonese so I often zoned out, but the father/husband shared in english and so did the kids so I understood everything and actually paid attention. That’s all I’ll say for now.

It was a fun-filled week. Look forward to the rest of my summer.

Post Here

While unknownuser is taking on an expensive hobby, I’m trying to gain money… although he is pretty much gaining a lot more money than i am still…

Started daycamp training this week and finally met everyone together in one room. Just reminds me of the first year I did this (which was last year). It’s pretty fun so far. I look forward to the rest of camp. Hopefully it doesn’t get ruined somehow… =S

Too tired to post anything else. Drove a lot these past few days. Need a break.

Latest Hobby: building my own computer

So two things came up to trigger this new hobby. 1) I had no idea how to go about doing this, which was sad because I was switching into Computer engineering. 2) my poor old laptop which I got 2 years and 2 or 3 months now has been struggling by for the past year or so.  While i’m at it 3) a lifestyle change in university where I’m now in a new one year lease for a place off campus makes a desktop much more bearable to deal with.  4) there's a 4th!. Starting with co-op again this term, means quite a bit of extra cash so I decided to use a portion of those earnings toward this new computer.  a budget of one weeks worth of pay.  Sounds reasonable?

I think my first step was Wikipedia.. some sort of search for the components of a computer.  Then about a few days after coincidentally at work, I wanted to get two monitors, so i told my boss and he said that my current computer couldn’t support it but if i fix up another one lying around, i could use that.  So opening it away i went.  It took me like 30 mins finding a philips screwdriver amongst the mess which is my work place and to dissemble the computer itself.

I was more than mildly disappointed…

As it turns out computers only really have 5 or 6 components to it, with 3 being more major ones.  Not too complicated as I once thought.  So let me throw up my planned computer and *looks around, Nim comment now! and/or anyone else.

1. There’s the processor or computer which can range from 100 ~ 400$?
    Want: AMD Phenom II X4 940? 220$

2. Theres the motherboard, which holds the graphics card and the processor, mother- board? 50-250$?
     Want: _______ something 100$~

3. A video card! depending on the brand, the number system is different and means different things, so higher is not always necessary better.
     Want: Radeon 4770? 110$

4. Ram, or more memory for the computer.  a cheap way to boost a computer’s processing ability.
     Want: 4gb DDR2 1066? 60$

5. And a Hard drive, compared to the space in a laptop, these are so much cheaper for a desktop
     Want: 500gb SATA? 70&?

And then you just need the casing and the power supply for it and there you go, a simple computer.

still mildly disappointed…

the wedding

  • woke up 40 minutes before the wedding ceremony
  • called dad to pick me up so I can get to the ceremony as he was already out
  • got dressed and cleaned up within 15 minutes
  • skipped breakfast
  • sat with friends on the bride side even though I was closer to the groom… though i also know both so it’s alrite
  • took pictures after ceremony
  • ate a bit of snack after photos… didn’t realize it would be my lunch. something I’d have to pay for in the near future
  • went to friends house to game. played rock band and sang karaoke and a game called ragdoll kung fu (very fun game!)
  • went to mcdonalds 1 hour before wedding banquet coz i didn’t realize the snack was my lunch. also ate a bit of expired snacks before deciding to go to mcd’s
  • went to wedding banquet
  • got bloated with the food… underestimated the power of mcdonalds

The wedding was very nice and I was very happy for the couple. Both were my counsellors at one point at fellowship… more so he groom (highschool fellowship) than the bride (university… i was at university and not in toronto so I didn’t talk to her as much). Both are very great people that I respect. You guys have prolly been to a lot of weddings and wedding banquets but this was my first time going to a wedding banquet so I had a great time as I had nothing to compare it to. It was a great and tiring day overall.

Post to Post

mmm… continuing on my streak of uninteresting titles

So instead of posting about my week I’ll concentrate more on today. This week has just been about bridletowne (daycamp) stuff such as workshops for lesson planning and music for kids, Jess being sick, and me doing a whole lot of nothing but chillin. Though we finally did get together for a night of movie-fail (except drakonen) + pool + kbbq. I’m sad I didn’t take pictures eventhough i brought my camera (though I’m sure drakonen is happy about that).

Today, basically went with Jess to pick up her guitar from twelfth fret. Her guitar sounded very nice indeed… though I still love my own guitar… just… ok i don’t wanna talk about this anymore. Also saw creepy motion sensor kid doll…toys??? it was awesome… haha

Most of my day was spent doing daycamp stuff. There was a Family Fair running at a nearby school (to bridletowne park church at warden and finch) and he daycamp staff “volunteered” there to meet the kids who may be coming to the camp this summer. Day started around 3 (chilled with the directors a bit as i was early =P) and ended around 9? It actually went by pretty fast. I was in charge of this… soccer… kick… station where we set up hula hoops inside a goal post and the kids just had to kick it in. There was on for gr.3’s and under which I manned, and another for older kids which was harder. Lots of kids came and it seemed like it would never end. My volunteers came and left randomly >.< so at times i manned the station alone which was brutal.

It was a lot of fun though. There was a cotton candy machine and a dunk tank. It was nice to see a lot of kids out with their parents. There was even a “bus race” where the kids in each grade made a card board vehicle and decorated it and they had to race them as a team. I didn’t actually see the race as I was distracted by the dunk tank, but the designs looked so nice. It was also sweet to be in an elementary school again… it just has a certain atmosphere to it that just makes you all warm inside haha.

Ended the day with watching dawn of the dead with Jess at my place, getting bubble tea, then me driving my sister and her friends home from prom. It was a nice full day =) and I enjoyed it all.

Have a wedding to go to tomorrow. Should sleep now. Bye.

Past Few Days..

(*) Lots of grammatical error and unfinished sentences in the following paragraphs as well as illogical chain of thoughts.. but nevertheless enjoy!

With my tutor job and volunteering in two research labs. I have been quite the busy one. I just ate dinner at 10:30pm.. since I came home at 10pm. Now I am tired and bored.. been working too often these days, but I tried to fill in some gaps.

Here's some dates to keep you guys updated about me.

Last friday:
10AM-3PM. Volunteering at my professor's lab, finally I received a mini research project on callus and cell suspension. Basically it's just a small 2-3 month project on producing and maintaining cultures of undifferentiated plant cells. These cultures are the plant equivalent of stem cell in animals as they are able to take on any new roles required by the organism, or in this case for research proposes. I am learning quite alot in this lab and it's been a great experience. I actually get to use what I learned in class to my lab work, it's quite surprising really. Now let's get on to the fun stuff.

4pm-6pm. I was at softball practice with uoft friends, we are making a summer team and just playing for fun. This practice was the first one I have been to, while meeting alot of new people, I have rekindled my interest for softball. It is truly a great sport to play and socialize in.

7pm-9pm. Was at all you can eat sushi with uoft friends again, not the same people from softball, but more from my classes and close friends. However I definitely did not eat my money's worth!

9pm-3am. Poker night with softball people, almost lost 20 bucks.. but managed to pull even. Pretty lucky since I was playing really crappy poker, all I did was call. That does not win you poker games, so I am very fortunate I did lose alot of money even though luck was definitely not on my side. Also it was late, went to eat at golden griddle, got some pancakes... mmmm.. so goood :D then crashed at a friend's place until the morning where I had work at 10:30am.

wake up at 10am.. go out to eat and do it all over again. /i love college song lyrics.

Sunday:
Went with UU, and a couple of friends to see UP. The second 3d movie I have been to, and I absolutely loved it. The movie was emotional and touching, a movie for perhaps echoes and his gf =P I will add updated more often..

Soon.

Till then, this is m&ms and I approve this message!

Post to break the no posts

seriously? no posts?

wow.

Not much to update. Just a bit of daycamp stuff rite now with a few optional workshops to attend and what not since i have nothing better to do at the moment. Mostly just sitting around and watching friends… or youtube… or just channel surfing on t.v. If anyone doesn’t have a life please contact me. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

that is all for now.

Work

So i’ve been working at my co-op for about 2 weeks now, and finally I understand a little bit more about what I do everyday at my monday to friday 9 - 5.

It’s an interesting little small start-up company in the biotech field.  A bunch of researchers at UofT decided that they had a product which others were interested in, and a few of them decided to break off from the university and create a company to develop and sell this product.  A few people being Actually a “few” or 2.

So I have 2 other full time co-workers in this little company.  Theres 1 product manager which deals with the customers and the managing and selling of the product.  Another one is the machinst who goes about building the product in the little machine shop of his ( think grade 7  & 8 metal and wood shops? ).  The main product which we develop or which i’m currently working on, involves a product which analyzes the thermal stability of proteins.

Working in my first software development job, i’m actually enjoying having complete control of the this entire aspect of the project by myself.

Now working once again is a new thing for me.  9-5s are more hours then what school takes, but then the nights are completely free to me, so there's that plus of having no homework.

I can see how its easy to fall into a pattern of working and letting time fly right by. 10 – 20 years of this can seem like a normal routine.  will that be me? All the older people who I speak too, all tell me that job security is an important aspect.  But doesn’t this mean they’ll be staying in the same company for a long time? I just don’t want to fall into a cycle for that long.  We’ll see where I end up in 10 years.

I’ve also turned 20 last month, I don’t beleive i’ve posted since then either.  But that whole new “2”s digit infront makes me take a step back and think about where my life is heading.  I haven’t had any major epipanies or anything but its just a reminder that everyone should take a step back in their lives sometimes just to think about where their lives are headed.

The 12’oclock bug ALWAYS hits.

Like most days, i’ve attempted to post much earlier in the day, and my posting speed is at a slow-moderate pace.  It usually culminates abruptly with it becoming too late and time for bed, and the pressure and race to finish posting begins.

Just Hoping to be cured for next time….

off ice al

Disclaimer: It’s a whole post about a girl. I know how everyone loves disclaimers.

Hey guys, I didn’t post in a while. I was kinda hoping that someone would post, but I guess not.

Pretty exhausted from campus challenge. I was away for the whole Victoria Day weekend just getting to know other christians from other campus fellowships.

A few things happened from my last post to now. I can’t do a lot of it much justice as it has been a while, but we will see how good my posting skills are. I will devote this whole post to one thing and my subsequent post for the rest.

May 11:
Dragged drakonen out with me to do some shopping.  My mom got laid off this day, so I had the car for the whole afternoon. (She’s doing ok). I went to the bank to take out some money and then I went to shop for a red rose and a box of chocolates. Found the flowers, but didn’t buy them because I wanted to keep them fresh. Went to STC to buy a box of chocolates. Got exhausted after driving around so that was that.

May 12 Part 1:
This was a pretty full day. Started with a Campus Challenge worship practice from 9a.m. to 12p.m. Then Jess and I went to celebrate a friend’s birthday at Sushi Bong. After everything was done, she went home and took a nap while I had to drive off once again to get the missing flower. Bought the flower and chose to go to STC again, but this time to buy a shirt for a date the same evening. I failed to buy a shirt for like an hour so I just went home and took a 1 minute nap. Then I was off to Jess’s house.

Intermission: brief background
This background information won’t do her justice either, but she knows she’s awesome so whatever. I met Jess Ngan at the first coffee house of the year at Western’s ACF (asian christian fellowship). I found that she was pretty open and friendly and I enjoyed her company that day (and still do). Didn’t really know her too well except for the short talks here and there either during fellowship (though i don’t really remember those talks) or during bio-psych or the jamming sessions we would have every so often. When she shared something that she had kept secret for a while, it took a lot of guts to do something like that. My overall impression was that she was a strong woman who’s honest and most importantly loves God. I was impressed, but didn’t think much of it as I was on my own journey of growth that year. However, when it came down to it and a question of “who am i interested in?” was placed on me, my answer was her. Don’t mean for this to sound very cheese or anything, just if i had to pick anyone… I thought of Jess. It didn’t mean I would make a move because I wasn’t ready and I didn’t know her that well still.

May 12 part 2:
Driving on the highway northbound at 5:50ish was not the best plan. Traffic was pretty bad and the fact that I was tired did not help the traffic go by any faster. Once I arrived, I gave her the flowers and chocolates. I was suppose to give a relatively short speech at her door asking her out, but I chickened out at that point. So I just drove her to Milliken Park where we took pictures. I was still trying to work up the courage to do the speech and ask her out so it was a while until i actually sat her down and attempted my cheese speech. A speech that would’ve taken 1 minute to get through took probably around an hour coz we kept laughing at my cheesy lines (+ they were true, not just lines). By the time i asked her, it was pretty dark. So we went to Swiss Chalet where I used to work and ate dinner there. Afterwards I slowly drove her home making stops at our respective church parking lots talking. Eventually got her home and sat by her front door because I was just that tired. Talked for a while and asked her to be my girlfriend shortly followed by her parents coming back to the house and me saying bye.

Blasted the radio on the way back so I wouldn’t fall asleep. But yes, this was my first date with Jess. Hopefully she enjoyed my very tired self =P

Just announcing this more publically because I found that hiding it this weekend was just very hard. I believe we both found it frustrating not to act like a couple because we didn’t want to disrupt the already established team chemistry of the worship team. Probably would’ve been easier to tell them, but I didn’t wanna just bring it up and have awkwardness… I suck like that haha.

That is basically it. Thanks for reading.

So Tired…[edit: I will miss you Scrubs!!!]

I should not be sleeping for 5 hours during the summer when I sleep for more during school. Though this is kinda my fault for sleeping late.

Pretty exhausted from everything. Had an interview today with the people above the director position. I knew them from last year so it was ok, I didn’t feel as stressed as I have with my many other talks with other people. Whenever I have a seriousish talk with people, either my face, or my hands get numb… and sometimes both. Maybe it’s just a lack of sugar… or healthy food in my system.
Anyways, they just asked me a few questions… though it seemed like a lot. The interview was different that last years i think. They didn’t ask me anything situational based like “what would you do if you lost a kid at the science centre?”. They instead asked questions like “What do you hope to achieve this summer at daycamp?”. Overall, it went well, they were very nice about everything. I kinda caught myself slouching a few times though… not good. I was tired though…

Slept at 3 in the morning coz that’s when drakonen left my place as he was installing Windows 7 on my laptop. Woke up before 9 for some reason… I don’t know why… not used to that so my eyes were pretty teary for the rest of the day. But yah, lost the songs i bought off of the itunes store… i’m pretty upset. Hopefully there is a way to get them back. Have some of the songs on my ipod shuffle… so i just can’t sync it up with my laptop. Other than that… still have to recover a few programs that I lost. Windows 7 is pretty nice so far… don’t have the energy to personalize it yet. Also had a Pho craving so we went over to pho double eight at bamburgh circle to get some Vietnamese noodles at 11:30pm. Very satisfying. Well worth the gas… and the random impulse excursion was a pretty nice bonus to a fairly semi-epic day. Drakonen also managed to confuse a spider. It looked hilarious! It was just going back and forth from drakonen’s hands (yes… pretty nasty but hilarious) until we figured out the spider was building a web between his two hands.

Had to eat viet noodles at noodle star today though… with my pho craving gone… it was pretty hard to eat a large bowl. Maybe I’ll go back one day when my cravings are back at full blast.

BIG EDIT:!!!!
HOW CAN I FORGET? SO CRAZY THAT THIS WILL BE IN CAPITAL LETTERS. JUST FINISHED WATCHING THE LAST EPISODE OF SCRUBS. THOUGH I WATCHED IT IN TWO SEPARATE PARTS AS MEGAVIDEO DID THE 72 MINUTES THING ON ME. I WAS PRETTY ANGRY. SO MAYBE I WILL WATCH IT ANOTHER TIME THROUGH THE WHOLE ENTIRE EPISODE. IT’S USUALLY 20 MINUTES BUT THIS ONE WAS 40 AS IT WAS THE SEASON FINALE. IT WAS A BITTERSWEET ENDING. I’M GLAD IT ENDED AS THE SEASONS 5-7 WEREN’T THAT GREAT. THE 8TH SEASON WAS AMAZING IN MY OPINION! A MIXTURE OF COMEDY AND SERIOUS LIFE LESSONS. IF ONLY ALL THE SEASONS WERE LIKE THIS. I think that the fact that they now knew that the season would be over, the writers actually had to think of what to do and try hard to make it awesome. Lesson: Have a goal and deadline, you will cherish everything much more than going endlessly without a finish line in sight.

Scrubs… you will be dearly missed. The show has brought me so much joy during my 1st year at Western… and it will always remain a part of me. I would take everyone down memory lane but it would make for a substantially longer post so this is good for now. =( Bye Scrubs.

I tried not to post/guitar week

Really? No posts by other people other than M&M’s? Really? Fine m&m’s you have my props

Don’t want to post long. Basically, guitaring all week… fun but tiring =P What is to become of my fingers? find out in the next post… I would explain everything in more detail but I’m not in the best state to do that. 2 in the morning isn’t the best time for anything.
With no further details:

Campus Challenge Worship Practice: Thrusday to Saturday 11am-7pm
Genesis Fellowship (Church fellowship for university students): 7pm-8pm? maybe…
Sunday Service (mothers day) Worship Practice: Wednesday 7pm-10pm (just finished)
Sunday Service: Sunday 8:15am-10amish?

Many hours pressing down steel strings. mmm…. very nice.

Hungry Hungry Hippo

Echo Domination anyone? Too bad it had to come to an end. I'm sure echoes is getting all teary by this post already. =]

Nothing too exciting in my life, I still have one more exam so I will keep this short. Typing at 5am in the morning might not be too healthy, but I have mutiple urges to eat nowadays. I already devoured my cut in half delissio pizza. Oh my, was it just awesome!

Switching to my main topic, since you guys know I am going back to my home town in china during this summer and going along the food theme, I wasted alot of time googling up my favourite food in China since when I ate it as a little kid.

I want to share some stuff with you guys.
The first thing is STINK TOFU :D

YUMMMM YUMMM!

Second thing: "Hot Dry noodle" or 热干面

They have instant noodle version of these, I might bring some back.

After you mix the sauce it looks like:

That's all for now. I will be adding more later, hopefully I can take lots of pictures and do some vblogging during my trip there :D

Signing out...

Update April 30&1

So moved out of my place north of campus and moved to my new place south of campus. It was tiring with a big of rain but it was done. I left my slippers there… I will see if i can still get it another time.

Other than that I’m back in Toronto with a lot of stuff to unpack. Throwing clothes out that I won’t be wearing anymore coz I don’t have enough room for my london clothing (I just backspaced like 3 times with the intention of capitalizing “london” but just went “whtever”)

I don’t wanna do job stuff… I just feel like relaxing but I know I can’t. Plans for the summer? Nimalan can post the list… as he says he will post on saturday… we will see whether he goes through with it.

blechgh? I just feel very blah… maybe it’s coz it’s almost 3a.m.

Oh yah… having that extra screen is actually pretty nice. Yay split screen. So much extra space… mmmm…

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Saw a shooting star when walking back from just chillin with people who still had exams. Wasn’t really annoying them, I had a book to read and was also looking for a summer job. Still nice though since it was my first time seeing a shooting star. It was epic in my eyes. It had a trail of ice behind it as well. Did I make a wish? does a cow go moo? I don’t know

Oh twinkle twinkle little star
how I wonder what you are…

(don’t get science on me, i know what it is. u’ll only ruin everything)

Taking a little glimpse back from the start (ironic post?) [a thought post]

Don’t have enough time or energy to post a full look back at where I was in September to where I am now so I’ll just jot down some stuff that I thought of while brushing my teeth.

I don’t think anyone ever sees exactly what they’ll be like at the end of a journey. Second year went by fairly quickly as did first year. Some stuff seemed like a long time ago eventhough it was just this year such as swimming and volleyball. Others like my trips back to Toronto, friends coming over, seemed like just yesterday. The point of this paragraph is to say how thankful I am for this year. It was a rough start academically mostly because I overloaded my first semester… and I had swimming, but coming out of this year I am able to swim and appreciate other sports more, and I also have a larger understanding of the human body and how it all works. I would have never expected this much growth in knowledge (that I may lose over the summer), or growth in other parts in my life.

I do find myself looking either in the past for hindsight or looking forward for foresight. I think many people do that though, learning from the past and applying lessons to the future. However sometimes you just have to look at the present. Just concentrate on the todays because the tomorrows will worry about itself =). Make each day count because unfortunately the world is unpredictable and this moment might just be your last. I haven’t been doing that, but hopefully one day I’ll be able to enjoy each day as it is instead of looking forward to another day thereby missing the present. Follow?

With that said, looking forward to the summer and our third year.

That’s enough for today i think.

Done Last Exams

Let me walk you through today…

First Aid/CPR at 10am. SO HOT. we had maybe 3-4 breaks including lunch. Maybe two 15 minute breaks, and one 1 hour lunch break. Maybe it was three 15 minute breaks, i don’t remember. But got through the first 8 hours of training realizing I had no notes to study for my Children’s Lit course coz I left 80% of my notes at my future house… dangs… I shake my fist at the one who might be laugh at this.

Anyways, finish about half an hour early. So I go to the library to do last minute cramming of memorizing authors and main characters… which actually ended up failing at. I forgot one author’s last name and another main characters name. Hopefully I just lose part marks for that… common english! part marks please!

The children’s lit exam actually requires a lot of strategy:
Part A Question 1 => choose 5 out of the 8 passages and state full author and title + character  who spoke it and who else was involved
Question 2 => Out of the 5 passages picked in Question 1, Pick 3 to elaborate on any themes, important developments that occurred from this passage, etc. You cannot use any of these books for Parts B or C

Part B
Pick two out of the five short answer questions to answer. You cannot use any of these books for Part C.
It basically made you compare 2 books that had a similar theme to it. I chose comparing the use of clothes in Cinderella and Peter Rabbit, and comparing the values that were in Treasure Island and the Story of the Treasure Seekers.

Part C
Pick 1 out of the 5 essay questions.
I chose to talk about how authors use death in children’s books and why they do it. I used Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone, White Jade Tiger, and Briar Rose.

So you basically couldn’t reuse books that were used elsewhere in the exam. Which means you had to go over the whole exam first and pick and choose the right combination of books that would be the best fit for each question and give you the highest mark. Of course because I didn’t read every book, my choices were limited. Parts A and B had set books while Part C was choose any 3 books of your choice to compare. I enjoyed strategizing… mostly because it worked and I actually finished my exam this time. I couldn’t finish my mid-terms coz I just wasn’t used to the style. I didn’t expect much out of this exam. I went in pretty hopeless, but came out pretty hopeful. All I can do now is hope that the exam mark doesn’t make me hopeless again.

Overall I am pretty satisfied with the exam. It went ok. I could’ve done better, but I did my best and it all worked out. Yays. =)

Update: The New Jacket

Trying my hardest to have post titles… they’re hard

Bought a new jacket 1 or 2 days ago depending on how you count days… technically 2 days but because i haven’t slept yet it’s still yesterday. Yah? get it? yah.
I’ve been complaining a while that I needed a spring/autumn jacket because I don’t really have one except for maybe my formal matrix looking jacket which I don’t wanna wear every day. So yah, $30 at winners… I WIN!!!

Today was a pretty hot day. I wanted to wear my jacket… but I couldn’t. It was just hot. It’s ok though… i finished my Treasure Island book today… the one i started during reading week… and never finished. Started Treasure Island in February and finished 2 other books in between haha. Just because I wanted to write my essay on one of the two other books i read. Good motivation. So yah, finished that book, bought another book, started the new book AND finished it in the same day! WHT WHT??? Pretty proud of myself rite now… despite the fact that there are still 4ish novels left unread in the book list that I should’ve read. So i don’t really know how great I’ll do for my exam without 4 books worth of knowledge. I will just try my best and hope for the best… because that’s pretty much all I can do. But yo… “Haroun and the Sea of Stories”… pretty nice book. Very interesting and contains pretty nice lines that just make you wanna say “gg”.

Have my STANDARD First Aid/CPR C saturday… or today… or tomorrow… seeing how you count days =P from 10am to 6pm, then exam from 7pm… to… most likely the end. –sigh-. Tomorrow will not be a nice day. I wish I’d have more time to relax coz the next day is the second part of the CPR course. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I just have to get through the weekend… and I will have to worry about summer. Oh Summer… summer… summer………. =)?

Dang it! not even cold enough tomorrow for me to wear my jacket. I HAVE NOTHING! nothing!!!

Edit: Also got a free soup from Timmies!!! I was so happy! coz… i didn’t see her give free soup to anyone else… YAY. ‘Twas delicious.

Goodbye Anatomy

Just finished my anatomy exam both written and lab. 100 multiple choice for written and a 30 station bell ringer for the lab. This marks the end of me working with cadavers. It truly is a blessing when you think about the lives those bodies must have had when they were alive.

I never got to say goodbye to Clyde the Cadaver… haven’t opened him up for a few weeks. Though his muscles were amazing, his organs were not. With an enormous heart, a burst lung, and a really messed up G.I. system, he was good to us and it would’ve been nice just to pay our respects once more. I’ll never forget the experience and knowledge that I gained from working with you Clyde. I only wish I worked with you more.

The group i worked with was also amusing. It started off productive, but as we got more confused in the course, we just started to play around. No longer following the lab instructions, we just cut and explored the human body. They just make me laugh every time with their smart remarks and brilliant insults. Hope to meet up with them again someday.

Time for some children’s literature.

Update/Thoughts

Weird title… because all posts are either updates or thoughts…

Finding happiness in the little things and being thankful that I can actually afford them… for now. Ran out of body wash and hair gel (well i have an old container of hair gel but it’s been so long I don’t think it’s gel anymore). Bought new ones yesterday… can’t wait to shower… and then style my hair. This new excitement will only last a moment though… but it’s the little things that get you through the day.

Starting to feel the weight of the stuff left unstudied. Anatomy is mostly all memorizing with some application to case studies. Exam is tomorrow. Starting to worry a bit. I’m not a big worrier because I know that worrying doesn’t get you anywhere. Sure, maybe it amps up your sympathetic (flight/fight) system so all your senses are like heightened but it’s a big waste of time if you don’t do anything productive. It does get you the initial drive/inspiration for action though, and I think I need that drive or motivation to go all out. I know I will try my best though so that I may be at peace with the result and not give too many excuses (too many does not mean none =P eheheh).

Got me thinking about Security. Everyone needs to feel secure and safe though there are people who like to live on the edge. We all measure the level of risk in our heads and try to go into a decision where there’s the least amount of risk. Sometimes it’s out of our control though. So what happens to our sense of security then? Where is your sense of peace?

Just a bunch of questions. Where are the answers? Stay tuned for the next epi… jk.
