Aikido

I should be writing my essay which was due last week… yet I am here posting something. So I should make this quick before I forget what my second point is in my essay.

I haven’t actually been going to aikido all that much because I’ve either been really busy with meetings or I just got lazy and wanted to chill. Whenever I do go though, it’s a lot of fun. The instructors are hilarious and the people there are pretty friendly. You can feel their genuine care when you’ve been gone for a while. It’s a nice feeling =).

Yesterday was my aikido testing day; going for 7th kyu which is an orange stripe belt. I should be testing for an orange… but I missed the test last semester so I’m a bit behind the people that I started out with. It’s really encouraging when the instructors were the ones who pushed me to test because it shows that they do have confidence in you. It’s apparently a general unwritten rule that if the instructor tells you to test, you’ve already passed. Unless you mess up big time of course… then you fail.

Also made it as one of the Western Aikido Club exec. I was suppose to be president this upcoming year, but since I haven’t been going as much, it’s been decided that it would be better if we see someone else who has been going more regularly to apply for it. So now instead of president, I’m VP secretary. I take care of the attendance list and some if not most of the admin stuff… which is mostly sending out emails.

Guess i should be going back to work now.
